Why do we use screen names if we're going to expose ourselves on video? This would be great fun at a get-together, but those of us who are teachers, nurses or police officers don't want our private lives available for our students, patients or inmates to guffaw over on the internet.

Yeah, and everyone under 18 should have to have thier parents permission. However - I am sort of looking forward to seeing a 14 year old Zsa Zsa shrieking they are what they are.

As someone mentioned, the prizes are sure enticing. My problem is they may be TOO enticing. Is there an age limit? Boundaries for language? "Special" talent? I am sure BWWContest has their heart in the right place, but this sounds like a very bad idea to me.

the one thing i find odd is that broadwayworld is making it appear like it's their contest when it is really a contest by the usa network. what does broadwayworld get out of this? and what does this have to do with broadway?

to me, it sounds like a thinly disguished advertising ploy/money making revenue stream.

I'm not crazy about this idea either for the simple fact that there are a lot of people here that already reveal way too much personal information.

And, I really don't like the idea of encouraging people, especially the young ones, to post videos.

Rest assured that we're not making any money off these contests. Like the others that we've run, there are some good prizes, and it's being put on by a legit sponsor (USA Networks) so we're happy to be one of the sites offering this to our members. If you're not interested, no worries, just skip it.

This assumes that we can get equipment to make a video. Between having to pay Manhattan rent and going to theater, I don't have the money to be making videos.
