How does she do her corn?

Nov 6, 2019 — 6:56:56 PM

We all know that Jerry always compliments her on the way she does her corn. It’s out of this world. Does anyone know what she does besides boiling it on the hot plate?

Joe's Pub?

If I remember correctly, you can order food/drinks at the bar, which is probably where you’re located. Granted, I haven’t been there in a few years.

Unreleased Jonathan Larson Songs?

Oct 12, 2017 — 1:00:33 PM

A Director said: "I own Jonathan Sings Larson on CD. It's available at amazon.com. It's wonderful."I'm definitely going to pick this up. Looks like Amazon has three left in stock. Thanks for the info, ya'll. "Hosing The Furniture" is fantastic. I saw an amateur performance of that one and was still struck by it.

Unreleased Jonathan Larson Songs?

Oct 11, 2017 — 7:27:38 PM

I've been on a Jonathan Larson kick recently, having dusted off the tick...tick...BOOM! cast recording for the first time in a couple of years. The score is incredible, particularly Come To Your Senses, Johnny Can't Decide, and 30/90. I've heard Jonathan singing Boho Days, and I've watched a ton of the videos of him performing the songs solo with a piano. No matter how they are presented, I find them extraordinarily effective. This got me wondering out some of the other Larson pieces out there...

BroadwayConcierge said: "Ha, I read the subject line over and over again, totally confused what you were asking! The disclaimer helped My top five favorite scores since 2012: The Bridges of Madison County, Hamilton, Honeymoon in Vegas, The Great Comet, and Something Rotten!. "Hahah, yeahhh. I thought that might happen. I'm totally loving Something Rotten right now. I just gave it a listen for the first time two days ago and I've been hooked on "Hard To Be The Bard" and "Bottom's Gonna Be On T...

Best Scores From the Last Five Years?

GeorgeandDot said: "The Bridges of Madison County, Fun Home, Waitress, Ghost Quartet, Bombshell, and as you mentioned, Dear Evan Hansen, The Great Comet, and Hamilton."Thanks! Bridges, Fun Home, and Waitress are on my list of things that I'd like to check out. Are there any specific songs that you'd recommend I check out first, or give them all an initial full listen?

Best Scores From the Last Five Years?

Jun 14, 2017 — 8:45:01 PM

I'll establish upfront that I am not looking for anything related to the musical Last Five Years, but rather literally musicals from the last five years.I've been away from theatre for quite a while, and I've found myself being drawn back into it. Watching this past year's Tony Awards and seeing the brilliant performances from Dear Evan Hansen and The Great Comet really reminded me of why I fell in love with theatre in the first place. So now, I'm looking to get back into it and reignite the ...

What's next for Rachel Chavkin?

Jun 12, 2017 — 4:16:32 PM

This is so crazy to me. Rachel was my Shakespeare teacher a few years ago and she was telling us about a little show that she was putting together at Ars Nova called "Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812". It's insane how much it's blown up since that point. Really goes to show that one moment you can be teaching, and the next you can be up for a Tony Award. Insane.

SueBee, did you check out the budget proposal for 2017? I could be mistaken, but it seemed to me when reading the budget last night that I saw 500k that was allotted to their salaries. Could you shed any light on that? Did you see anything out of the ordinary in the budget?

Not sure how you're expecting me to respond to this comment. Thanks for reading the first three paragraphs, I suppose?

Pay-To-Play policy has been introduced in my home county.

Jun 28, 2016 — 5:01:59 PM

The situation unfolding within the Harford County Public School system is absolutely sickening. I've just found out today that they are instituting a new pay-to-play policy in which any student wishing to participate in the drama productions will have to pay a $100 fee, which will then fund the swimming program. This is outrageous, and I applaud those protesting today. I promised myself that I would stand up and take action in the face of injustice. I've included my Facebook post here at the ...

Cabaret previews

I didn't want to say too much yesterday since I was at the invited dress, but I was seriously blown away by Michelle Williams. I think that her voice is really interesting, and I definitely agree with the earlier comment made about it having a Piaf like quality. Her Cabaret was chilling, and she brought such a tender yet selfish naivety to the role. I wasn't around to see Natasha Richardson, but I think that Michelle Williams is a very worthy replacement. She's a natural Sally, and definitely...
