The Punisher had such a great potential. If only they kept on with the comic book story line and made it darker. If only they found another bad guy (John Travolta really sucked in this one). There are so many if only for this movie.

Any other movies that had great potential but fell flat in their face?

There are so many, but the first one that came to mind was Daredevil. I'll get back to you.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Good one. Elektra is another one that have such a great potential.

Even Catwoman, if they'd spent half as much time on the story as they did on Hally Berry's costume it would have been watchable.

Death to Smoochy.

If there was ever a movie to be remade, it's that one.

Talented Mr. Ripley- what a waste of a great cast.

Cruel_Sandwich--jw what part would you have remade about "Death to Smoochy"? The script? Direction? Because you couldn't really ask for a better cast, IMO.

I wish they had more of a homoerotic tone to The Talented Mr Ripley.

Very few of these are actually bad, but they all were big disappointments, in my eyes.

Bewitched
Boogeyman
Meet the Fockers
White Noise
Saw
Alexander
Finding Neverland
The Door in the Floor
Mystic River
The Haunting '99
Catch Me If You Can
Kate & Leopold
Monkeybone

How was Findnig Neverland a disappointment?

I found it to be flat, and desperate for audience approval, similar to Cinderella Man. For that matter, add that to my list as well.

Keep in mind that's just one man's opinion.

I agree about 'Finding Neverland.' I mean, I don't mind having my heart tugged but you don't have to tear it from my chest and show it to me.

I liked 'Cinderella Man' but I wish they wouldn't have made Max Baer into a cartoon.

That's sort of why I loved Finding Neverland. I don't mind being manipulated into sobbing, especially when Kate Winslet is the culprit.

Peter (Freddie Highmore) was the culprit for most of the people I know. I thought he was amazing. Especially in that last scene on the bench.

The cast was solid with Death to Smoochy but it just wasn't sharp or dark enough to truly be as good as it could have been. It's like they put corks on an alligator's teeth.

That was one of my main problems with Cinderella Man as well.

Freddie Highmore was fantastic, but I just can't bear to watch Kate Winslet die in any movie. It destroys me. She's such a phenomenal actress, and there's so much going on in her eyes.

I also shouldn't forget White Oleander. Fantastic novel and incredible cast (with Pfeiffer and Lohman being the standouts). Despite the pedigree, could have been much better.

Lestat - such a waste of material. the movie was really bad.

AI - if only Spielberg ended with the kid underwater staring at the statue of the fairy princess. Instead, he had to add another half hour with the happy ending. Updated On: 7/22/05 at 04:58 AM

If Gothika would have went in another direction, instead of turning into a psychological thriller, it may have been good.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.
