Ballad or Up-Tempo?

Would you call Adelaide's Lament a ballad or an up-tempo piece? I have an audition coming up that requires both, and I was sort of hoping to use the ending of AL ("When they get on the train for niagra" to the finish) as my ballad, but I wanted to see what the general opinion was on what category it falls under Ballad or Up-Tempo?

What are you thinking of contrasting it with?

Unless you have something insanely up-tempo, that really does not count as a ballad. Especially the ending.

I would never consider it a ballad.

Yeah, it was just really wishful thinking, partly induced by the thought that I wouldn't quite call it "up-tempo" either. I decided on some other songs that should work quite well, and I'll probably save AL for some time when it's not specified what type of song I should be singing re: Ballad or Up-Tempo?
