That was one hell of a head bounce!

Interestingly, the only reaction I saw was of the woman behind the ballerina that didn't fall. She covered her mouth with her hand.

I saw Vasiliev as Ali in Le Corsaire on Saturday in DC. He was absolutely magnificent in the pas de trois. Then I saw him outside smoking during intermission (in costume no less). That made me sad.

I live about a block away from one of the biggest ballet schools. Every day I see the bunheads, and most of the time they're smoking, drinking soda or eating junk food.

Ballet dancers and how many smoke is no big secret, but in Russia, anyway, they don't really have regulations about doing so in public, in costume.

Like JC said with the current mess behind the scenes at the Bolshoi it's the least of my worries about the great company self imploding.

Oh I know dancers smoke, but I was just shocked after the amount of energy he just expended on stage that he could accomplish all that being a smoker.

theres a big diff between being so PC that you trip over yourself and negative stereotypes.... such as when you might think a person is something because of their race/religion/enthnicity/country of origin/or sexual preference.

but you can say whatever you want, Namo, youre entitled to your opinion its still a free country

I'm just trying to have a better understanding. A person needs to be PC but not *too* PC. But a person will inherently know when they are being *too* PC because there is just a sense, and it's a common sense, so everyone will be in agreement because that sense is common.

Are Ukrainians known for their excellence in racial matters?
