In case you didn't read the story, it's being turned into a Century 21, not a DR.

Every booklover I know who has held one has fallen in love with it, except one.

Posted: 9/2/10 at 1:21pmThere's just such a feeling of...I don't know...peace browsing shelves and leafing through books. Especially at the B&N where there's just more of a vibe than at Borders or that clusterf**k Strand. I'll miss it.

I don't know, maybe it's psychological, but every time I start browsing through a bookstore I end up needing to use the bathroom.

The recession is actually boosting library attendance and use. The bigger problem is the effect of spending cuts on library systems.
Libraries now lend ebooks too.

Well, now there's a silver lining
Whatever our city is or isn't, they DID spend a fair chunk of change to put in a brand new cultural center five years ago, which included a beautiful new library (and 100,000 new volumes!) It gets used a LOT by the community.
