Barney Frank is hoping that the President will make it clear that the DOJ brief doesn't reflect the President's views. Keep on hoping, Barney, and have another gallon of Kool-Aid to wash it down...

"If this debacle of a brief represented the president's views, I'd boycott too. I totally understand all the hurt and anger . . . (but I) still personally totally believe in the president." - Andy Tobias
You have got to be kidding me. Based on WHAT, Andy?!?
Stick to personal finance matters, please.

Barney Frank doesn't go far enough; the fundraiser should be canceled until the Democratic Party gets on board the civil rights movement for the LGBTQ Community. We are not going to get civil rights by continuing to enable the hypocrites and liars that run the Democratic Party, from the President on down. No more gay money, no more gay votes until there are full civil rights for gay people in this country. That has to be the bottom line, even if we have to take to the streets like the Iranians of today and the heroes of Stonewall 40 years ago.

What about the Intersex community? I guess they're not part of your movement? Or the Quesioning? Or their Allies?
A bit of Barney Frank trivia as a divertissement~
His hometown is mine, Bayonne, NJ. His family owned a shoe/hosiery store named Barney Stock. The last time I saw Barney Frank was when I was in the store, and he was holding up a package of nude hosiery and asking if that was what I wanted.
carry on~

?I strongly opposed DOMA when it was adopted and I will continue to fight for changes."
He'll fight for changes, rather than repeal. Thanks, man.
"I support very strongly the lawsuit brought by the people at Gay & Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) that make the cogent argument that DOMA?s provision denying federal recognition of same-sex marriages blatantly violates the equal protection clause."
Uh-huh, Barney, and you support the brief that negates that lawsuit. Sup?
"And I will work with the Obama administration as they have promised to do to enact laws protecting LGBT people from hate crimes, from job discrimination, and from discrimination in the military."
Barney doesn't mention marriage discrimination.
"I will also be critical when I think inappropriate language is used. But after rereading this brief, I do not think that the Obama administration should be subject to harsh criticism in this instance.?
Chug that Kool-Aid, Barney! Chug it!!

I'd hate to see what would push past his boundaries.
The dildo has not been made that would push that far, Q.
The administration musta bought his ass off big.
"Are they kidding us? Domestic partnership benefits WITHOUT health insurance because of DOMA?" gay fundraiser and activist David Mixner told POLITICO in an e-mail. "It is like rubbing salt in the wound."
"From what you describe, it seems to me to fall very far short," said C. Dixon Osburn, a gay activist in Washington. "A patchwork approach that doesn't amount to a full array of benefits one would want or expect ... does not seem like a very good olive branch."
Obama said Wednesday that he wanted to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, calling it "discriminatory," and that he supports legislation to give same-sex partners of Federal employees equal benefits as heterosexual couples enjoy.
"Hundreds of Fortune 500 companies already offer such benefits, not only because it's the right thing to do, but because they recognize it helps them compete for and retain top talent," he said.
Why can't you queers be quiet in the back of the bus?

When DNC Treasurer Andy Tobias, who's organizing the upcoming fundraiser, heard that Vermont Senate President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin has also declined to attend (in protest of the DOMA brief,) he had this to say:
"I think Pete Shumlin is terrific. I totally get why he feels the way he does. If I thought that the Department of Justice brief reflected the Obama position and vision of America, I would be boycotting or not going to the dinner either. But it doesn't."
Well, then, what DOES is reflect, Mr. Tobias?!?
The apologists are moving me into Namo territory - not having a last nerve to work!
