When I was little- like 6 or 7ish, I wanted to be one of those kids who danced with Barney. Anybody else have that fantasy when they were little?
When I was a little older and watching School House Rock in my elementry school classes, I wanted to be one of them. I was so obsessed with those kids. I would pick a particular kid I would want to be and the rest of the class would tell me I was such a dork. Ok- well, it's true, I was and still am to this day.
Now, my question is...at 21, is it a bit odd for me to still want to be on those shows?
I mean, I am in theatre after-all.

Good for her! And good for you for marrying her. Tell her I congratulate her for not hiding the kid inside!!
Maybe she could be Barney and I could be Baby-Bop!!

Push no way! WE all still long for that sortof stuff
OMG! As a kid I longed to be on those shows....sad thing is I started to take Karate, because when I got to be a teen I wanted to be a power ranger.....
I still wish I could be on a kids show...like the doodlebops come on I could so rock out that show!
I still feel that way and im 16...idk how ill feel in 21 years...but I still flaunt my power ranger gear

Posted: 11/25/05 at 6:36pmI was in high school when Barney first came out. I sat through many episodes with my nephew and niece. And one of those girls on that show was my age, I'm pretty sure.

Mr. Roxy- tell your wife that I said "I love her, she loves me, we are one gay family with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you, won't you be my Maureen too" *me as Joanne*
Sorry, that had to be THE DUMBEST song I made up!
There were tons of versions of that song making fun of Barney and his friends. My older brother and our neighbor used to come over for breakfeast in elementry school. They would make fun of it when I was watching and I would say to my mom "MAKE THEM STOP!" My mom would ask them to stop but they didn't, so for the rest of the year I would go upstairs and eat my cherios and stare at the TV singing with Barney and friends until it was over and time for school.
*ok, you can all laugh at me now*
Oh- and I use to LOVE Sharon, Lois and Brahm...remember the elephant show!?! I went to one of their concerts...I was on cloud 9 for the longest time!

I worshiped the ground that Barney walked on until I was about 9, as pathetic as that is. I used to get very mad at my father because he would be laughing at it and I couldn't understand why. I can still remember all of the kids that were on in my day. Let's see...Tina, Lucy, Derek, Sean, Kathy, and Michael. Does anyone remember them?
And I too think an E!THS on those kids is long overdue.

Posted: 11/25/05 at 11:43pmI remember Derek and Michael, and I think Tina; but they were when I was a little older and babysitting toddlers who would only watch Barney. lol I was pretty much like your Dad, sitting there laughing at the show. Someone told me that Barney was around when I was little (I was born in 1982) but I just have no memory of ever watching it for my own enjoyment.

one of the boys (blonde hair, mushroom cut) was a mirror image to that of my friend daniel. We are still best buds. I still bug him.
I vaguely remember a girl with brown hair who must've been 16-17 or so...
i wish i was one of the kids. I would have been the token chubby kid.
They would stick me in the back during the songs because i couldn't keep up with the dancing.
