Now we have the great DVD debate - High Def or Blue Light
Somewhere down the line, 1 format will bite the dust & those who bought the loser will wind up with an expensive doorstop. Than the winner will be OK for a few years until the powers that be deem you need Really HD or Really Really HD or Green Light. Repeat the process every few years
Maybe it is me but I really do not see the molecular makeup of a grain of sand when I watch Lawrence of Arabia on DVD. DVD is just fine for me

You know - my dvd player which I bought six years ago has HD and the HD hookups in the back to connect to my TV. Now - I don't get what the difference is going to be either - my next selection on netflix is a HD specific disc - so I will see soon if there is a difference or not.

HD will play old DVD discs & blue light will not. If I need to put a movie on DVD I will do it off cable in the future. I am not getting suckered into buying another system only to hope it survives a few years before I have to buy another - & buy all new software

Actually, it's BluRay. And LG makes a HD DVD player that plays both formats.
