A lot of us have done Beauty and the Beast. When rights first came out, everyone was doing it. I've been in two productions and two is enough for me. I like the show. What are your thoughts and experiences? Is it a show that everyone should do just because its a name?

I have seen this play done on stage and it was amazing (touring cast) and some really good high school productions

the problem is, alot of people do come and expect to see the cartoon

it takes alot of money, time and effort to do this show, but if done right, it is awesome

i just recently finished a production of Beauty and the Beast in which I played Belle. It was one of the best experiences of my life. It was definitely my favorite show I've ever done. Very challenging and very time consuming, but at the same time incredibly rewarding. When done correctly, I think Beauty and the Beast is one of the best shows a company can perform.

I've also done the show twice, and that was enough for me also. Its a really fun show, but I'm sick of being a utensil.

I saw the show on Broadway last April. It was amazing. I loved it. This year my theatre dept. has chosen that production for our spring show! Everyone is extremely excited...Auditions are next Monday and Tuesday, and cast is posted on Thursday! I am auditioning for Gaston and the Beast. WISH ME LUCK!

...I'll let you know how it turns out.

I've always wanted to play the Beast, but I doubt I ever will due to my shortness. However, I do think I would make a tongue-in-cheek Gaston. "He's so... tall?" lol

I played Lumiere in high school...it's definitely a lot of fun. I wouldn't say "everyone should do it" but...there are worse musicals you could do. A lot of the songs are really nice, and the show can be quite moving. At the same time, the book is definitely not the best. But overall it's a good show and fun to do.

I was in a community theater production of this show where I was in the ensemble and in the orchestra pit at the same time. ugh...

It was a terrible show and I never watch the tape of it without cringing. And its my favorite movie too so I was upset that it couldn't have been a better experience.
You shouldn't cast Belle as 40 and her father as 45 IMHO.

I played Babette in Beauty and the Beast a couple years ago. The show is...fun, that's for sure, but it takes some money and creativity to keep it from being completely disastrous. But, either way, it's definitely a money maker.

I've done it once, and I have to say it's a great show to do...once or twice. It gets old after a while, but it definitely entertains people of all ages, and rakes in the bacon, too.

Holy Crap! My school is doing it! And i'm one of five guys who can act, sing and dance! I'm so happy, because there are great guy roles and I'll probably get a big role and I am a freshman, so it'll be amazing! I'm working out so I can get Gaston (my biceps are always a bit shabby =(.

I did a production at my high school 2 years ago and it was definitely one of the best experiences of my life! Even though I only had dancing parts because I don't have a stellar voice, I was able to sing in the backstage chorus. I got to play a wolf...and a gargoyle...I got a lot of grief for the costumes that I had to wear. But it was definitely an amazing experience and I will never forget it.

I'm currently in Beauty and the Beast. In fact, we have our last two shows tonight and tomorrow. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm a Silly Girl, a wolf and the dance captain. I really think the Silly Girl's have the best role, though. You get to be crazy and silly yet take a break and chill for a little while. And being a wolf is so much fun since we come through the audience. Yesterday I scared a woman who screamed.
