You are the fvcking mayor of crazy town- you know that right??
No, Delpy, Hawke and Linklater are the mayors of evil town for putting us through the torture of waiting another 9 years with the hope of spending another 90 minutes with Jesse and Celine.
IMO, everything about this movie was perfection. We've seen Vienna and Paris and now we get the Greek islands.
This franchise really is like getting to watch Scenes From a Marriage in real time, and this episode reminded me of the turbulent office scene where Ullman confronted Josesphson.
There is an almost cameo monologue delivered by Xenia Kalogeropoulou, who is apparently the Judi Dench of Greek cinema from the 60s and 70s, that is delivered with such warmth that there wasn't any use in me trying to hold back the tears.
I didn't think they could top Before Sunset, but they really did.
Weirdly, I've never seen Before Sunrise or Before Sunset, but went to Before Midnight anyway (a friend asked me to go, and I went along with it).
Absolutely lovely film. And I did just fine without having seen the other two films.
I"m looking forward to this, mostly because the last scene of Before Sunset was so damn good.
I love the first two films, and I own them on DVD.
It will probably be a million years before this reaches the Midwest. So I'll have to curb my anticipation and wait ... very patiently ... to see the third installment.
I am definitely looking forward to it, though.
I marathoned the first two films the night before so all the details were fresh in my mind for the third.
Didn't Before Sunset get a screenplay Oscar nom? Before Midnight absolutely needs one too. It would be my dream of dreams to see Delpy and Hawke recognized with acting noms as well.
There are so many details connected between the first two films and the third film. I don't want to post anything so they can remain a surprise, but the film is filled with so many, "aha!" moments.
The first two are two of my favorite films so I've been waiting very impatiently the past couple months for this to be released. I saw it a little while ago and thought it was another masterpiece of filmmaking, but
*SPOILER*
I did have a little issue with the third act. The fight between Jesse & Celine seemed a little too forced for drama. It was exceptionally well written and acted of course, but it dragged on a little too long, had a feel of "How can we get them to fight" and also felt very claustrophobic especially since we'd just spend 60 minutes in beautiful Greece. But regardless of that, I hate that we need to wait another 9 years to see them again.

I'm just thankful that he changed his shirt from the second movie which distracted me much of the time.

I'm dying to see this, can't wait. Linklater is one of the more interesting filmmakers around.
