Bernie Madoff's son hangs himself

According to NY1, Mark Madoff - Bernie Madoff's son, also under investigation - was found hanged in an apparent suicide today. Today is two years from the day Bernie was arrested.

Wow. At the time the arrest happened, I'd wondered if his kids were innocent bystanders (they turned him in), or involved with the scheme (and Bernie took the full brunt of the blame instead of involving them). His poor little son was apparently in the apartment, too. He's fine, but what a thing for him to deal with when he's old enough to understand.

Yeah, having a Dad involved in the greatest financial swindle on record is a pretty dreadful thing to have to deal with.

On the other hand, the kid now has a better chance of being raised by someone who wasn't a bottom-feeding financial scumbag, so there you go. Silver linings, folks.
