Metropolitan Opera's money crunch May 19 2026, 10:13:41 PM
Seems like the Met and Gelb are really in a lose-lose to meh-meh situation. They're in between old school and new school, and neither school has the deep pockets to keep it afloat.

Gaten Matarazzo to lead RENT on the West End May 19 2026, 02:01:57 PM
Luke Shepperd's website show production pics. Has a real Spring Awarkening vibe based on it. Wonder how it'll play in the West End or Broadway.
I happened to like the Off-Broadway revival, but I think it was just too soon after the original closed. Plus some of the leads' casting was questionable.

I swear to Christ I will never forgive the creative team of Damn Yankees if they force us to endure NPH when Rob McClure is right there. And Julianne Hough after they fin

Babies crying in theaters May 16 2026, 10:13:37 PM
Fred Mason said: "I stay away from kids nights on broadway because of how annoying they are. I agree, keep the kids at home"
I've been to a few Kids' Nights and funnily enough, I found the parents to be worse than the kids. I remember being at Fiddler at the Minskoff and while the kids were surprisingly rapt and quiet, the mom insisting on checking in on them to see if they were okay and needed anything, rummaging through her bag for things for them.

Even if the licensing page didn't express prohibit it...just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Babies crying in theaters May 16 2026, 01:50:57 PM
Everyone who enters the theatre needs to have their own paid ticket. Theatres have clearly marked advisories.
Keep your f**king kids at home. End of story.

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New) May 13 2026, 02:10:26 PM
Great timing to announce her now. Maya's making the show bank right now, they need to focus on the summer, and with Hack wrapping up its run, there's interest in that cast now for what's next.

CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Review - 1 Minute Critic May 10 2026, 10:21:36 PM
BJR said: "I'm surprised no one has brought up Sydney James Harcourt's new press push, which includes a shoot withPlaygirl.
I can't remember the last time a performer on Bway so directly embraced (pursued?) a s*x symbol status."
He was a guest on the Dads and Daddies podcast the end of April. Guaranteed to leave you hot and bothered.

Vanessa Williams in ‘Devil Wears Prada’ May 5 2026, 06:16:19 PM
I was listening to The Happy Grownup podcast featuring Vanessa Williams, and she mentioned she signed her third extension to October...
And she says plans are for her to come to Broadway with the show in 2028!

2026 Tony Awards Nominations! May 5 2026, 02:18:00 PM
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would've preferred anyone else besides Nichelle or Hannah in Featured. Nichelle didn't really register for me at all, and Hannah was lovely singing but maybe it was the role itself, but it didn't do much for me.
Otherwise, all the other nominees were pretty spot on.

Eugene O’Neil Theatre on fire!! May 4 2026, 02:04:49 PM
If there is damage that has to be repaired, and FDNY has to approve that work, it's going to be a long while before it can get a sign-off to re-open. Hopefully after 15 years they have some reserves, or maybe the creators can use some of their residuals to keep paychecks afloat, because this likely to be weeks, if not months.

Why are audiences so poorly behaved these days? May 3 2026, 10:07:46 PM
It follows the fall of movie theatre cinema behavior and it comes down to one thing: money.
As in, "I paid a ton of money for this experience so I'm going to enjoy it the way I want."
Theatre owners don't help by treating it like an amusement park, selling popcorn and concessions in noisy cellaphane bags.

Sardi’s to Lay Off Dozens During Renovations May 3 2026, 09:29:09 AM
I thought when the news came out, it was noted that the staff would have to re-apply for their jobs, which implies they'd be let go while closed.

Moulin Rouge to Close on Broadway Apr 27 2026, 09:46:00 PM
I only hope that she has a good reason for leaving, even if she keeps it to herself.
If it's really over a break-up, I'd be really disappointed.
I mean, she got shot in the foot. She's made of stronger stuff.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW reviews Apr 25 2026, 10:06:06 PM
I went to see "Strange Journey" the new documentary about Rocky Horror, with a live Q&A afterward, hosted by the unavoidable Paul Wontorek from Broadway.com, with Linus O'Brien (the director Richards's son) and the doc's producer. When the question of audience participation with this new revival came up, Linus said they shouldn't try to curtail it, and Paul said one of the early previews he saw where there was a ton of audience participation and he love

Theatrefan2 said: "EDSOSLO858 said: "Indications right now say no, although moving to YouTube like the Oscars would just result in even lower viewership totals. It's really a lose-lose situation."
Youtube is the biggest streaming platform in the world, and definitely a better way of reaching younger audiences than traditional network tv.
Also, if they dont region block it on youtube, they would then open it up to a worldwide audience that
