Roman Holiday
And I loved the ending to "American Dreamz." It creeped me out.

The Poseidon Adventure. Have faith and there will indeed be a morning after!
I recently saw Dark Victory and that ending was, aside from being quite emotional, very incredible.

The ending of Fellini's 8 1/2 is one of the loveliest things I've ever seen.
The final moments of GODFATHER II always get me.
The last shot of THE BIRDS.
not to mention the usual standbys: CASABLANCA, CITIZEN KANE, etc.

I really should think of a better movie...
Notting Hill
I am probably going to get flamed for this, but in the sea of useless romantic comedies that I used to watch all the time (I just realize that I don't much anymore, which is weird...) I loved the end of Notting Hill. Normally in a romantic comedy, the couple reunites, kisses and then it's over. Their future is left to your imagination. I loved the scene showing her with her head in his lap on the park bench while he rubbed her big pregnant belly. Not sure why that movie popped into my head when reading this.

American Beauty
Forrest Gump - I'm such a sap, but this ending makes me cry harder than ANYTHING ever has. When he says, "Jenny, he's so smart!" ... I'm tearing up right now. Gahhh.

re: Best Movie Endings#16
Posted: 6/12/07 at 1:32amI'm going to second American Dreamz. I thought the whole movie was great, but the ending was the best part (in that creepy, "oh man, that's exactly how society would respond" sort of way...)

I don't care what you all say! TITANIC.
What a WONDERFUL ending. It always chokes me up.
re: Best Movie Endings#18
Posted: 6/12/07 at 4:04amWell this is fresh on my mind since I just (finally finally) watched The Godfather for the very first time. The ending of that is pretty crazy/great. Al Pacino is so good. Wow.

I am also guilty of crying at Titanic. Mosty for Jack, not that b***h.
I don't care much for the ending of Some Like it Hot.
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.
