I don't think Amanda is predetermined to win. But, I do think that Production wants to continue the conflict, and do plant seeds in players minds. Amanda is good for ratings. Vile for humanity, but good for ratings.

I agree. they want the conflict at any cost.
I also do not feel she was predetermined to win.
But helped by the other HG's carrying her through, yes.
They would love to see Amanda and Elissa battle it to the end.
If Amanda survives Thursday's eviction, I will know that production had a hand in her survival for another week at least.
They have been trying to tout DEMANDA and McStinky as another BIG BB Showmance. Trying is the key word.

My humble apologies to silversurfer. You were right. It appears as though Elissa has flipped and is now voting to keep Amanda. (Actually, voting Spencer out.) If this is true, I have to believe that the producers have manipulated her, and the game, to make this happen. Apparently, Elissa believes Amanda when she tells her that if she votes to keep her, Andy will follow suit, which at this point doesn't appear to be the case. Wouldn't it have made sense for Elissa to have checked with Andy before swearing her allegiance to Amanda? All I know is, if Amanda stays on Thursday, I'm officially done with BB. Enough is enough. If I wanted scripted television, there are plenty other far worthier shows to watch.

1) Do you realize how many reality shows are "spiked," Luscious? ALL of them. The producers create the rules as they go along. They plant ideas using provacative questions. They create situations to shake things up. They use social media to see what keeps viewers talking. Reality show producers are both artists and trial lawyers. I have mad respect for them. It's a tough gig.

2) If the producers DID manupilate Elyssa, power to them. That's a feat difficult to accomplish. She was gun-ho on getting McRanda split up.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I think she saw the writing on the wall - and that there was a lot of game talk going on with the other 4 that she was not included in. I think her only hope is to weaken that alliance - the issue will be whether McRae realizes that Andy is the Rat Elissa has claimed he has been, or whether he will think she double-crossed them.

I honestly think Judd is not too comfortable with the tone and tenor of the conversations.

I find Spencer and Andy disgusting, and GM not far behind. I thought she had changed her ways, but last night, she commented that Elissa's son was a much darker skin tone than Elissa, and called him a derogatory name for a Puerto Rican. Judd cut her off and said kids were off limit.

If she wanted to try and win, I don't think she had much of a choice, and I am sure Production told her as much.

I think I may just turn it off after Thursday.

Luscious: Apology accepted.
What do those of you who thought that the rumour about Amanda being a friend of Grodner and being helped by production think now? Just conspiracy theories by "obsessed fans"? I think not.
It has become quite obvious to me awhile ago that she has had help in the game.
I still say no one can be a predetermined winner, but for someone that has had no game play other than being a bully, she has come very far.
I think that was Grodner's mission. To see how far her friend could get in the game.
If Amanda is in the F2 she won't win.
I don't think she would get enough votes in Jury.
GM is another vile human being, although fun to watch sometimes.
What she said about Elissa's child is just another nail in her coffin.
Right now, Elissa is the only one I would like to see win this.

At this point, I honestly believe that Amanda, if not the predetermined winner, is at the very least being helped in the game by production. I'm well aware that all "reality" shows are scripted, to a degree. But when there's real money up for grabs (e.g. BB, Survivor, etc.), I feel those shows should fall into a separate subcategory of the reality genre (competition) and, therefore, be subject to all of the same rules as any TV game show. If the producers are manipulating the game in favor of one player over another, I feel the producers and the network should be held accountable. If, indeed, that's what's happening here, I think BB should be exposed and taken off the air.

As far as Amanda going or staying on Thursday, I guess it comes down to that two-faced weasel, Andy. I couldn't decipher anything from watching AD last night. But Amanda was in an almost gleeful mood, so it's obvious that she wholeheartedly believes that she has Elissa's and Andy's votes.

In regard to the houseguests, with a couple of exceptions, a more vile group of human beings would be hard to find. GM's latest comments regarding Elissa's kid were beyond deplorable.

DISGUSTING!

It should not be forgotten that GM said some things that were as equally vile and racist as Aaryn did in the beginning.

Right! And including how she treated Candace.
Remember the "Bed Flipping" scene and how she got in her face.
As I said before, yes, GM may have mental problems, but I will never forget her words and treatment of Candace.
And now this...
Had GM been of different moral character and values, she might have been someone that I could root for in this game.
If GM is evicted at some point, I doubt Julie will confront her with any of these issues/words/actions. I think CBS has put it all on Aryan.
They are hoping to sweep the rest of the dirt under the rug. IMO.

In some ways I understand when production steps in but this is to far assuming it's true. You can't change the whole game. Especially with someone as hated as Amanda is. I don't think they realize how many fans they are going to lose. It's kinda scary actually.

Although, the sad truth is: they won't actually lose that many people.

I'll be honest - I've NEVER thought "I'm going to stop watching" before because this HG left or that one did something terrible. I NEVER thought that.

If Amanda stays, I actually will think it. Given where the house was yesterday, there is no WAY she should stay. If she does, the game will CLEARLY be rigged. There's no way around it.

Is Elissa THAT malleable? The two of them HATED each other. You don't go from where they were on Sunday's show to trying to save her. It makes no sense unless the game was rigged. And I certainly wouldn't count on Andy staying true to the Exterminators and not voting her out.

I HOPE it's just to build drama.

I HOPE I don't have to think "I'm not watching any more." (Because, let's face it, I've watched for two months, giving up now would be like quitting a 300 page book on page 250.)

If that witch stays, I will continue watching the rest of this rigged abominatiion. I have devoted too much time to jump this stinking ship.
Elissa's flip flop in her feeling's about Amanda does show that the producer's had a hand in that.
However, if she gets to the F2....I will seriously consider this being my last BB.
It will clearly show that BB has been manipulated and Grodner's plan has worked.
And I will be done.

At this point, if the producers are truly trying to rig the show, they should be doing everything to get Amanda evicted to try and dispel the conspiracy theories and avoid an investigation. I still find it difficult to buy the whole Grodner conspiracy simply because there is nothing to truly be gained for Grodner and the risks are far too high. It doesn't make any sense. If it is true and Amanda wins, the repercussions could be massive.

I'll make up my own conspiracy and see if it catches hold: All the scandal gossip has been the creation of ABC producers in an effort to have Big Brother canceled so they may continue with The Glass House.

It makes as much sense as anything else.

If it were to ever be proven that the show is rigged would there repercussion from the FCC? Would this be like a "Quiz Show" scenario?

I remember there were FCC complaints filed about the reality competition show Manhunt, but I don't know what became of it.

I think it depends on how the show is classified. If it's a "game show" the rules are much more rigorous than they are if it's classified as "reality show".

One would think that since there is a prize to be won that it would be classified as a game show. Even the houseguests themselves refer to it as a game. I wonder if there is a different classification for a reality game show as opposed to a regular game shows like Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy?

Whether or not the FCC could impose a fine or any other suitable punishment on CBS, if they investigate and any rigging is uncovered, CBS could have a massive class action suit on their hands with every contestant who did not win their respective seasons since Grodner's involvement. Which is every season. It also means winners like Will, Mike and Jordan could sue for the seasons they did NOT win. Though this is all conjecture and contingent on what is in their contracts when they agree to be on the show.

Grodner came on BB as Ex Producer starting with the 2009 Season.
Wouldn't it be something if AMANDA has the Diamond Power of Veto and takes herself off and puts up Elissa....just sayin'

This is actually the first season of BB that I have ever watched so I don't know all of the scenarios that the producers could bring about in order to shake the game up. Is there such a thing as the DPOV and if so, when is it typically put up for grabs?

Grodner was co-executive producer since the first season in 2001. She started being credited as executive producer for episodes as early as 2004.

If Amanda has DPOV, when did she get it? Nobody has been clear on that. And if it was during the balloon challenge, why would she be so upset at being on the block and not winning POV? I could be totally wrong, but I'm just not buying all the BS online about this season.

Thanks Mister Matt-then the internet info on her is wrong. Whatever.
Do you remeber when the last DPOV was used? I somehow think it hasn't been used in awhile and connected with Pandora's Box.
Tonight should be very interesting to say the least.

The DPOV was introduced in BB4, but it was in the final four, so it essentially was the same as Gold. It was reintroduced in BB12 as part of Pandora's Box (a "challenge" for the HOH introduced in BB11), but due to criticism that it basically renders the HOH useless, it was never used again.
