It's the parents' jobs to know what their kiddies are doing on the computer.

If I had a cute little underaged son I would be proud as punch to know he was chatting with the likes of Phantom2, jrb_actor, Vish, VoiceAnth, Dame, Sueleen and all the rest of all y'all. Maybe he could even go to the prom with Broadway11. Not all parents are as supportive. Crazy, huh?

One way or the other, it's not the government's job to monitor these things.

Yes it is the job of parents to know what their kids are doing online but, let's face it, many parents don't take that job seriously enough. Since there are many respectable adults on this board where we know there are kids, I don't see anything wrong in those repsectable adults keeping an eye on things that the parents may not be watching.

The internet can be an area of make believe. Not everyone is truthful about themself or their intentions. Let's keep in mind that you think you may be talking to someone who's photo you see, someone you think may be as sweet as apple pie, someone you think has the intentions of a kindly old saint, someone who has been nothing but pleasent and complimentary to you like your favorite grandmother, but you just don't know and can't assume a danger doesn't exist.
