This man is so smart, it's scary. He explained the whole financial crisis in a way a normal person could understand, and was never boring. He had Dave and the whole audience mesmerised.

This country needs Bill Clinton helping out in a major way.

Not that Chris Rock didn't totally nail him for working so hard to avoid saying the name "Barack Obama" out loud!

Bill can't win. If he doesn't mention Obama he is considered bitter.Forget his campaigning for Obama (he even plugged the fact he was meeting with Biden in 3 weeks for a fundraiser in PA) Whatever the man does its not enough for some Obama supporters.Hillary is out there doing the same, but it just is not enough unless they bow down and kiss his feet. I LOVE Chris Rock but he was a jerk last night!

I remember seeing an interview with Greenspan after he'd retired. He said that of all 4 Presidents he had worked for as Chairman of the Federal Reserve, only Clinton completely understood the workings of the system. The others had to depend on advice from their financial advisors.

I am a Obama backer, whats your point?

Clinton on the View and another show (may have been Letterman) Defended Obama's choice on picking Biden. Seriously, what more is he suppose to do? Chris Rock, like the extreme Obama supporters, are doing everything they can to divide the Democrats and give the election to McCain.Don't get defensive when I ask what more are the Clinton's suppose to do? Do you really think they both want a Republican in the White House? The 'Blame Clinton crowd" has been around for over 10 years now and I am sick to death of them. Whats sad is, they have now branched out from the right wing to some Democrats who just enjoy blaming the Clinton's for something. Clinton was blamed for 911. He was blamed for the economy. He was blamed for letting Bin Laden get away and now he is being blamed for not doing enough for Obama. Give it a rest and go over to Free Republic.com if you want to keep on bashing the Clinton's, but I will counter every "blame Clinton" remark posted.

Nobody blamed Clinton for anything. Namo pointed out (as did literally HUNDREDS of reviewers, politicians and observers-go google it if you don' believe me) that Chris Rock made some REALLY funny observations that Clinton worked to avoid saying "Barack Obama." You launched into a screed about those darn "Obama Supporters."

Like a few others on the board who will remain nameless you've become more than a bit unhinged over this election.

I spent the entire interview hoping we could elect him again.

I absolutely agree. If only the Republicans hadn't rammed through Presidential term limits- he'd be president still.

Okay, hi. C'mon. Seriously. Rock is the best kind of comic since his style is directly descended from the court jester. He states the truth even if it may be more comfortable to not hear it. It was not a big deal what he pointed out. And he was right.

" Clinton was blamed for 911. He was blamed for the economy."

I rather think it was the Republicans who were more to blame for 9/11, if you can really blame any American Party. During the Clinton Administration the Republicans seemed to place Clinton's sex life as the world's most important issue, threatening the very functioning of the country, justification for impeachment. If the 50+ million tax payers' dollars that Kenneth Starr spent on investigating Clinton's sex life had instead been spent investigating terrorist organizations, I might have been standing on the observation deck last week.

I thought Clinton helped save the economy from the Reagan/Bush years.

Whatever, Palin supports the brutal, sadistic slaughtering of wolves in Alaska, interfering with the natural balance of wildlife just so "pleasure" hunters can get their thrills. Enough reason there to vote Democratic party in this election. There are other reasons, but you don't need them with this one on the table. : -)

And I said Chris Rock, who I usually like, as well as some others are jerks. Chris Rock might as well start talking about McCain's accomplishments and how great he would be as President. As long as these people continue to blame Clinton for EVERYTHING, no matter how petty like not mentioning Obama they less chance we have at winning. So Clinton fails to mention Obama during the Lettermen show but mentions him on the View and a couple other news channels. He mentioned on Letterman how him,Hillary, and Biden were going to be at a fundraiser FOR OBAMA in PA and he is still criticized. He DEFENDS OBAMA on his VP choice and still he is criticized. So, Chris Rock and those who found these observations funny should ask themselves if its still funny if McCain wins. I would like to send Chris a tape of him where he actually defends Obama.I think Chris was a little PO'd because Clinton took up most his time and only gave Chris 5 minutes to chat.

I launched into a screed about those darn "Blame Clinton" people, some who happen to be EXTREME Obama supporters. Yes, you are right. I have become a bit unhinged over this election. Why? Because there is a lot at stake. I told someone the other day this election is terrible for your health. I fear what 4 more years will do to me and this country. Clinton was a great President and I really have to question anyone who blames him for whats happened over the past 8 years.

Yeah, those damn term limits. I would feel a lot safer with a Clinton in the White House. If Obama wins, hopefully he and his wife will be an asset to his administration in some way.

Parts with Bill on Letterman and then of course, Chris Rock

Ah, I miss the days when we had presidents who were amazingly sharp and articulate. Seems like just a distant memory now.....

I also think Chris Rock did nail the whole avoiding saying Obama was true! Chris Rock seemed to be yelling alot, though!

What Chris Rock failed to mention was Bill has mentioned Obama. On the View for example he defended Obama's VP choice. I think Chris Rock has it written into his comedy act and would have said it even if Clinton did mention Obama, which he did by the way. He mentioned Biden also. Not sure if he still is but Chris Rock use to be a big Clinton supporter. He even called Clinton the first black President on REAL TIME with Bill Maher a few years back.

To those in a dither over Bill's gushy praise of Palin, especially over at Huffpost...

Has no one noticed that Sarah bears an eerie resemblence to Monica, albeit older, trimmer, with a sort of Merle Norman 1985 makeover?

You're right, she does have that Olive Garden hostess look that's right up Bill's alley.

Of course, my saying that means I am a jerk working hard to divide the party and hand McCain the keys to the White House.
