Oh yeah, sorry, harmonica too. I was thinking of more substantial instruments, forgot about that.

And Tink, by 'Here Comes The Bride', do you mean Wagner's Bridal Chorus?

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Aww, no love for the harmonica? My friend's dad was a professional harmonica player for years and years. I think he even wrote a book on the technique of playing harmonica.

My stepdad played harmonica in a blues band for quite a long time, so I have much love for the harmonica.

I absolutely love Billy Joel, but no, he's not the best musician of the 20th century...

Agreed, but who is the best musician of the 20th Century?

I guess it depends on the parameters we're judging. Are we talking best rock star? Or best technical musician? Best rock pianist? Best pianist in general?

Let's have different categories then.

VOTE!

BEST 20th C. ROCK MUSICIAN

BEST 20th C. PIANIST

TECHNICALLY BEST MUSICIAN OF THE 20th C.

BEST POP MUSICIAN OF 20th C.

BEST MODERN CLASSICAL MUSIC COMPOSER OF 20th C.

(I vote Ennio Morricone for this one)

The only song of his that he played guitar for was we didn't start the fire. It's not his best guitar work but keep in mind he really isn't a guitarest. When he pickes up the guitar in concert people know right away what song they are going to do because he only does one song on guitar

True, I saw him last July. He picked it up, and I said 'Here we go...'

i personally think the best all-around rock musicians are some of the prog-rockers from the 70s like the guys in ELP (some of their work is astounding) and Todd Rundgren

For rock pianist it would probably be Billy Joel or Elton John... but i am quite partial to the music of Ben Folds, and think that he is up there...
