Bio + Theatre = QUESTION MARK

So I have this assignment for Bio where I have to take the different parts of a cell (called organelles) and then match them to what they would be in the theatre world. This is driving me nutsy bomb (even though I chose the theatre aspect. Clearly.)

Any help would be great. So far I have the Cell Membrane (forms the outer boundary of the cell and allows only certain materials to move into or out of the cell.) As Stage Mananger. I can change it if I find a better fit, though.

Here's the other organelles:

Nucleus - directs the activity of a cell; it contains chromosomes with the DNA

Nucleolus - creates ribosomes

Ribosomes - create protien for cells (energy)

Cytoplasm - gel-like material inside the cell; made of water and nutrients for the cell

Endoplasmic Reticulum - pathway through the cytoplasm; creates lipids (energy)

Golgi bodies - process/package nutrients in cell; deliver protien

Mitochondria - break down sugars; release energy into cell

Chloroplast -site for photosyntheis (in plants)

Lysosomes - digest waste

Cytoskeletan - gives shape & structure to cell (maybe ASM?)

Centrioles - organize spindle fibres for reproduction

Chromosomes - contain info. for protien production, composed of DNA & protiens; carry genes (Maybe another ASM?)

Vacuoles - storage centres




If any of these descriptions seem to fit ANY aspect of the theatre, from theatre school to administration, to performers to set design...any ideas would help.

haaaaaaaaaaaaaa this made my day. I don't have time to think up answers though. Except:

Lysosomes - digest waste : janitor, lol

I did something like this this year.

Chromosomes- show brochures or billboards (contain info about the show)

Cytoplasm- the house (seats)

Cytoskeletan- the cast
