Just when I thought nothing on TV could top the sheer stupidity of the David Blaine stunt, along a trailer for this thing comes.

PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE KIDDING!
I saw a commercial for it. Why is this necessary?

I think this is a TV movie and not a movie theater movie.
Not that it's much better...

It's ripped from the headlines, just like Law and Order.
No it is "ripped from the furute headlines".
Great way to induce a real panic in America...make a f*cking TV show about it

You better skip United 93, then.
"You better skip United 93, then"
that happened already, hon! I see no need create a panic way ahead of what may not even happen. tsk tsk

I'd be surprised if this NBC movie induced an actual widespread panic, though. I know people who are already worried about the Bird Flu and, indeed, perhaps we all should be.
Plus it's got Joely Richardson!

Remember Jaws?.......

ABC! Oops.
Anyway, just I remember Jaws. Did it induce a widspread panic? I was very young when it came out, so I really don't know.
Ok, toddler! Yes, it was a widespread panic and caused people to stay out of the water more than any time in history! Take it from granny here!

Well, think of all the people who didn't get bitten by sharks!
Oooo!!! I learned something about this movie in my Current Issues class. Sensationalism. It's when the media takes an issue and makes it a bigger problem than it really needs to be, but you probably already knew that. Honestly, what are the chances that we are going to cause a widespread epidemic of Bird Flu? Weren't we all worried about West Nile, and the African Killer Bees? Did anything happen? No, we got all worked up and worried for no reason at all.

I'm just bitter because my Weekly Reader freaked me out when it reported on the killer bees. I could have used you then, Jane!
This TV movie is ridiculous. Stop. It. Now!
(And on a side note, I'm going to see Jaws tomorrow at an old vintage theatre. Yay!)
tell me about the bees, Kringas, are they coming?
BTW, Jaws is one of my all time favorite films. I'm ashamed to say I over-watched it and have become a little tired of it now.
I'd watch it, but I hear it's for the birds!
Okay... so sue me. Someone had to say it.

I hear they've been coming for years, Jane. I used to be scared but now I'm just impatient.
Feel that adrenaline rush? Have you ever seen those stunts where they cover themselves with bees? purposely!

I hate bees!
Me too. I have tons of allergies, so I got an epi pen just in case I'm bitten and allergic.
Random: Once a bee flew up my pants leg, got pissed at ME because IT got itself stuck, and stung me.
...so is anyone planning on actually watching this Bird Flu movie?
Why is this necessary? Because it's sweeps.
And yeah, all this hysteria reminds me of the West Nile scare a few years ago. I was in CO's West Nile capital, Greeley, when the fuss broke out. Not much came of it.
We might not be so lucky with this, but seeing that every pandemic I remember in the last 10 years has fizzled out like a cheap firecracker, I'm not going to jump the Chicken Little bandwagon just yet...
