Birthday party locations in NYC
Birthday party locations in NYC#1

I'm looking for somewhere in New York to have dinner and drinks with about 10 people for my upcoming 21st birthday. I'm thinking that I'd want to go somewhere trendy, but affordable and fun. People keep suggesting Rosa Mexicano and Sushi Samba, but I've done those countless times already and want to try somewhere new. I'm so guilty of going to the same restaurants over and over and want something different. Maybe somewhere that we could start with dinner and turns into a lounge/bar later on (but it doesn't have to). Any suggestions? I'm pretty much open to anything.

Nothing beats The Palm Court at The Plaza Hotel. There's such a sense of history and grandeur. Sure, it's going to cost a bit, but how many times do you do something so memorable and important? That's what you gotta look at - the big picture.

Oh, yeah......completely wrong location for loud and bustling. You'll be out on your ear when the yelling starts! Ha, ha....
Wherever you do go, have a good time and make sure to post it here so we can read all about it.

Posted: 8/31/08 at 2:01pmAre you into karaoke? There are places that are made for loud, bustling parties and they're reasonable.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I actually thought about karaoke, so thanks for the suggestion! I just don't know how much the people I'm with would be into that. And I'll definitely be stopping by Cheap Shots if I'm in the area, even though we won't be out on my actual bday.
I want somewhere that has the same kind of vibe as the restaurants I listed. Someone mentioned a place called Boucarou to me, but I haven't talked to anyone who's actually been there.
Anybody else have ideas?
