Did anyone watch his statement? It was rather interesting. I'm impressed at how swiftly this impeachment occurred. Perhaps if he had been President, he could have avoided all this impeachment nonsense and simply do what he wants.

Instead of answering why he said "I've got this thing and its bleepin' golden", he chose to talk about how he grew up in a poor immigrant family...in other words, he had nothing.
And from what I understand, after his speech he hopped back on the government plane to get back to Chicago. If he was still in Springfield after he was ousted, he would have had to hitch it home.
He lives about a mile due west of me. I'm sure the neighborhood will be a-flutter tonight.

Although the news stations are saying "Impeached" he was actually impeached weeks ago- this was a conviction and vote to remove him from office.

I heard the vote live on WBEZ tonight and was quite pleased.
Let's hope that our state govenernment can get back to work. There are so many providers of social services that are waiting for state payments to keep their doors open!
