Being a "modern woman" I'm kinda hoping that Mrs. Van Alden finds a way to get the money and has the surgery anyway.

This was the first time we've seen her, right? I already find her to be an interesting character that I really would like to see more of. I thought she was going to be a pious, weak woman and I was happily proven wrong.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

I believe we saw her once before...maybe twice.

I thought she was going to be a pious, weak woman and I was happily proven wrong.

I think she's "beaten down" in a sense but she also has a cause that could give her some fire.

I was totally taken aback by that myself. To stoop to a "sin" and it wasn't so much that Van Alden felt he betrayed the bureau but because he was Jewish and didn't believe in "Heaven" and "Hell". And why did no one do ANYTHING? I don't understand how a man of the cloth could stand there and allow that. And, yes, I get the Van Alden is an authority figure and all that. But seriously.

Whipping himself a few episodes ago should have been a clue the boy was a few cards short of a deck. Looks like a few people will get it next week. No idea who though.

I want to know when the season 2 premier is scheduled.I am praying it won't be 10-12 months from now like Curb Your Enthusiasm or The Sopranos.This show is just brilliant IMO.
