Today, Academy Award nominated actor Bob Hoskins announced that he will be retiring from acting after being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. In a statement from his agent, the 69-year-old actor “is now looking forward to his retirement with his family, and would greatly appreciate that his privacy be respected at this time,” according to the BBC. “He wishes to thank all the great and brilliant people he has worked with over the years, and all of his fans who have supported him during a wonderful career,” read the statement.
I wish him the best of luck. I've enjoyed many of his performances on film.

DAMN! Peter O'Toole Retires. I had heard Judi Dench may due to her losing her eye sight and now Bob Hoskins! This is so sad but I do wish him well.
I was pleasantly surprised to see him in Snow White and the Huntsman this year. Between Hook and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, watching him on screen was a big part of my childhood.
What a lovely actor! Sad news. I wish him all the best.
This is so, so sad. Bob Hoskins popping up in a new movie was always something to look forward to.
For some reason, though, I was under the impression he was a good deal older than 69.

Very very sad news -- Hoskins was always a joy to watch. I wish him nothing but the very best.
Always enjoyed his work. Sad news, indeed. I wish him the very best.
We're making him sound kind of dead.
^ I blame Bob Hoskins for that.
Well, his career is dead.
Unless I run into him at the beauty parlor or pool hall, that's that.

"We're making him sound kind of dead."
Wishing him the best of luck in life is different from saying "rest in peace."
No, it was just all the past tense and everyone repeatedly saying "Bob Hoskins is dead" (which, I see, has been conveniently deleted from all the posts now :-p thanks, guys).
