re: Bored and Sober in College club

I don't stay at college (ugh, sore subject...), but I don't drink. I don't see the purpose. If you NEED alcohol to have a good time, then there is a problem.

I have found my people!!
I think I'm the lamest college student in existence: I don't party, don't drink, have no love life (or anything even close) AND I still live at home.
You may bow to your Queen of Lameness!

Huzzah for soberity! timote, I totally agree with you... while it might seem like I'm quite dull, I find life to be particularly entertaining when I'm sober... example I have Dream Phone AND GirlTalk! Who needs liquor?!?

I don't think we should think that we're lame just because we don't drink, and other people shouldn't make us feel that way. It just so happens that when you don't drink and nothing else is going on... there just ain't much to do. Last Saturday night I worked on a paper and I had a blast by myself, writing about Wal-Mart... but then again, that's me.

Maybe we could become a society? The Sassy Sober Society?

re: Bored and Sober in College club

Really, who needs to get drunk when you have a bunch of kids dressed as monks walk through the dining hall chanting in Latin during dinner?

I didn't get it until they thunked their heads on their Bibles.

Uh-oh... there is an anti-bored and sober movement. *keeps mouth shut*

I know what you mean, zaneyb3000. I'm more than capable of being weird without alcohol. I've gone to many a midnight madness party (in costume) totally sober.

re: Bored and Sober in College club

Mostly I just like to watch my friends make total fools of themselves...Christina brings the alcohol, the rest of them drink until they're ridiculously plastered, and Renee and I take pictures and giggle, then retreat to her room to watch cartoons.

Yay for nerds!

re: Bored and Sober in College club

JP have I told you lately that I love you?
I plan on getting ****faced tommorow for the sake of getting ****faced. I am a celebrate-with-drunkeness kind of girl, and some of my most hilarious stories come from nights of anti-sobriety.
That being said, i have complete and total respect for those who don't drink. Just please don't rain on my parade and I won't rain on yours :) Trust me, I've had enough nights puking in front of the A&P- I know I SHOULDN'T drink, but what you SHOULD do and what you WANT to do are two entirely different things. And since I'll spend the rest of my life grudgingly doing what I SHOULD do, I'm going to use my relatively carefree university years to do what i WANT to do!
You should have seen me when I had my Summer of Singless. It was a disaster. And AWESOME!

re: Bored and Sober in College club

I don't drink and I have tons of fun. I had a wonderful dinner (Grilled barbecue chicken and homemade potato soup with a bunch of friends.) Played some euchre, went to see Anchorman on campus, came back home and 7 or 8 of us played hide and seek in the dark in the house, so much fun!(well really it's a mansion but we always call it the house, four stories including the basement and 17 rooms.) It was a blast! re: Bored and Sober in College club See you can have fun and not drink. And more importnatly you can be a member of Broadwayworld and still have a life!re: Bored and Sober in College club

re: Bored and Sober in College club

C'mon guys. Who needs drinks when you can get high? (Sorry, I must plug the local product. re: Bored and Sober in College club)

Uh, I mean, drinking's overrated. Since I'm Asian, and I'm allergic, and none of my dear friends are interested in Puke Duty, I rarely drink, and I've learned my limits. (As do my DKNY jeans, who have been on the receiving end of some nasty backsplash. Have that image? Like it?)

I'm legal, but I still don't drink more than once or twice a month, and when I do, I'm nursing one drink for the entire evening. I just don't see the point of going out and drinking for the sake of getting SH*Tfaced. What's the point?

It costs YOU money for the booze,
YOU money for the tips,
YOU money for the taxi,
YOUR Coyote Ugly moment where you wake up to some nasty stranger...or three,
YOUR liver,
YOUR hangover,
YOUR missed day of school/work because it was still too bright/too loud in your empty, darkened room when you woke up the next day.

*shrug* There's nothing wrong with a drink or two once in moderation, as long as you drink for the right reasons and not because you: a) want to be cool; b) want to get hammered; c) want to act stupid and obnoxious and this is your excuse to get away with it.

It costs YOU money for the booze, not when someone buys it for you!
YOU money for the tips, see previous statement
YOU money for the taxi, not when you live next door to the bar!
YOUR Coyote Ugly moment where you wake up to some nasty stranger...or three, okay I've got nothing. But there has never been three.
YOUR liver, she's adjusting re: Bored and Sober in College club
YOUR hangover, advil and water does more than you think
YOUR missed day of school/work because it was still too bright/too loud in your empty, darkened room when you woke up the next day. I skip enough class, what's one more day?!
Okay in all seriousness I won't get ****faced for no reason. And I won't get even a bit drunk if there's a chance I'll miss school or work the next day. Tonight I'm partying it up Toronto style....last time I did that I ended up walking barefoot through Chinatown because my feet hurt too much....I will be drunk, I will be hungover in the morning, and I will sleep in till 4pm.
All you sober people will feel a lot better than me, sure. Chacun son gout!
Tiff- I nearly died when I read your pot comment. It's true. The Maritimes have their fish, Quebec has their poutine, the territories have ice, Ontario has pollution, the Praries have wheat...
And British Columbia has marijuana.
