I actually was lucky this year. I didn't end up seeing too many nauseatingly bad films. There are, however, a few titles that stick out uncomfortably:
DEUCE BIGALOW 2 - Why I saw this is a mystery. Morbid curiosity, I guess. There's nothing more boring or deppressing than badly done comedy. Therefore, Deuce Bigalow 2 the saddest, most pathetic, movie of the year.
LAST DAYS - A highly self-indulgent, agonizingly pretentious, and just plain uninvolving movie that thinks it's more disturbing than it actually is. THRILL! As Michael Pitt's "Blake" makes himself a bowl of macaroni and cheese in real time! CHILL! As "Blake" passes out and the camera turns on a Boyz II Men video. SPILL! As "Blake" finally kills himself (Not a spoiler) and the audience feels, not sadness, but relief. If Gus Van Sant really had to make money off of another's death, did he really have to make it so agonizingly stupid? I'm sure there are people out there who praise its "haunting dreamlike atmosphere", but to me, this was just reprehensible, self-involved, and annoying.
Bewitched and Fantastic 4 top my list -I can't believe I was conned into seeing those.

Was Bewitched really THAT bad? It doesn't look great but it just looks mediocre. Is it like aggressively bad? Not even Steve Carell or Jason Schwartzman can save it?
I love Steve Carrell, but he was actually one of the worst parts of the movie, which was severely disappointing...I suppose most of the movie was mediocre, but the ending just squashed it into unbearable ridiculousness, and the ending is what I most remember :0)
I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaated Last Days. Awful, pretentious film.

Fantastic Four you could at least laugh at (Like when the Thing was upset that the girl wouldn't go out with him). Last Days was just horrible. It's so horrible that I think the human concept of "badness" needs to be readjusted.
Son of the Mask was pretty horrible. I can't beleive I actually saw it in the theater. Waste of $8.
Get Rich or Die Trying was equally as bad. Why do rappers have to come out with movies about themselves???
Elektra was awful also. I saw it on the plane heading back from Hawaii. *shudder* I should have just gone to sleep
Oh my...I'm so glad I avoided most of these.

Here is an interesting list:
The Ten WORST Films Of 2005
to roquat:
Son of the Mask was the sequel to The Mask, the movie starring Jim Carey and Cameron Diaz way back when. I loved The Mask but Son of the Mask was so bleh. It's probably a good thing u don't kno about it.
pab, your link isn't working.
Sorry, it should be now.
Rent and Good Night and Good Luck are the only two on my list.
I try to avoid bad movies but sometimes I'm duped into thinking some might be good.
Those two would definitely be in my bottom 10 as well, Evelyn...like you, I get duped AND I have friends who drag me to bad movies, like the Exorcism of Emily Rose. So it happens over the course of a year.
Friends shouldn't make friends see bad movies.
Evelyn, GOod Night and Good luck? really? i thought it was an excellent film.
I would say bewitched was the worst. luckilly didn't pay to see many truely bad films this year.
GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK is one of the best movies of the year...what a bizzare choice for your BOTTOM films.
While there are certainly cases for EMILY ROSE on both sides, I loved it.
HIDE AND SEEK topped my list, with HP4 at a clsoe second.
"GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK is one of the best movies of the year...what a bizzare choice for your BOTTOM films."
It's empty yet superfluous and rides the coattails of liberal America's preexisting (though somewhat dated) opposition to McCarthy and, perhaps to a greater extent, George W. Bush. Thumbs way down. All style, little substance. And the style was pat, too.
Yeah, my thought about Good Night and Good Luck was that the subject matter is FULL of drama (the story is great, could certainly be relevant and so compelling) but the movie was just blah.
No kidding. Potential for a fantastic movie there. I also found DS's interpretation of Murrow to be surprisingly boring - though I have enjoyed him in other movies such as Map of the World with Sigourney Weaver.
I actually thought that a few of the films on that list pab were actually good. I really liked Miss Congen. 2 and Beauty Shop.
My vote goes for WAR OR THE WORLDS. More Speilberg crap.
