Yeah I second the vote for War of the Worlds. Was it REALLY necessary? Did we REALLY need to see Tom Cruise save the worl from killer aliens that came out of the ground? Did we REALLY need to hear Dakota Fanning scream some more?
Oh and The Dukes of Hazzard must be thrown in.
You know... this thread title brought up all kinds of vivid connotations...
The most notable bottoming film I saw in 2005 was MILITARY MUSCLE: RECRUITS IN TRAINING.
i have to definately agree with War of the Worlds
but also... I really wanted to love it, but I thought King Kong was THAT bad
i didn't like War of the Worlds, either. especially the ending. bleh!!!
i have to add the Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl. I took my niece and nephew to see this because they wanted to. I kept wishing the movie to end already.

We get it, 442. You hated RENT. Once is enough, thank you very much.
I can't figure out why 442 is so damn vague about his opinions.
Just ONCE, I wish he'd say what's on his mind.
BlueWizard, I've never even heard of that movie..
and Cruel_Sandwhich...my hatred for Tom cruise..I will never be able to explain it..I just---gah--I just---- blah.
bewitched was truly awful. delivering your lines in a breathy voice doesn't mean you're acting.

I actually didn't really LOVE Rent either. It was not the worst by any stretch of the imagination, but it didn't live up to my expectations. The worst was probably Dukes of hazzard.
I enjoyed Good Night and Good Luck, but not mainly for the story, which I'm familiar with. I tend to be sucked in by good art direction and lighting-the aesthetics of a film. That film drew me into the period because it was shot so well. I wasn't a fan of Rent at all.

Really? Doesn't baffle me at all. I think it's a natural reaction to that man.
BlueWizard, I've never even heard of that movie..
It was a lewd joke playing off the term "bottom."
I've been pretty lucky at the cinemas this year, being very careful in choosing which films I support with my money. So I'll say that the worst movie I've seen in 2005 was RENT. It wasn't completely terrible (that would be PHANTOM), but the filmmaking was amateur and gutless, and Colombus didn't have a clue how to integrate the music into the film.
