From this month's issue of W magazine:
"People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying," asserts Pitt, who in 2006 told Esquire that he and Angelina will "consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." "What if someone said, 'Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.' No one would stand for that, and I wouldn't allow anyone to say that either. I'd fight them in the same way."

While I support gay marriage, I think Pitt's argument only clouds the issue more than it helps. In my opinion, the overriding problem is that many, many people are unable to separate civil marriage from religious marriage (not that there aren't ignorant, hateful people out there who hate gays for being gays). I think some folks think that legalizing gay marriage will inevitably lead to forcing churches to accept gay marriage. I think the separation of the civil and religious aspect is the key to success.

Isn't there supposed to be a separation between church and state? I applaud Brad Pitt for speaking up for Gay Rights. Not nearly enough people do.

Last night I watched the end of TMZ and they had a slightly drunk Seth MacFarlane go off on people who voted yes to prop 8...it was hot!
Hot, because he was slightly drunk and . . . ? Or hot because of his support for gay marriage?
(I'm fine with either answer.)

I just love some typos
But, in answer to the question as stated: no, they are one-and-the-same.
Hot because he is cute, pro gay, and, while drunk, might consider switch hitting...
I thought that's what you meant.
I'm with ya.
He's only saying it because I told him if he didn't, I'd release the pictures...
Now that I know that being drunk and pro-gay marriage makes one more attractive, I'll have to start drinking more and discussing politics more.
Sorry, Madbrian, we thought you knew.
You know how if children can't play nicely together and share their toys you take the toys away from them? That's how I feel about marriage. In my ideal world, you can have a legally recognised partnership, but you can't have what is recognised as a marriage. Until everyone agrees that same rights for everyone is actually a good thing after all, at which point I may reinstate Marriage.

No, no, no. Gay marriage always leads to bestiality. Always. First, gay marriage. Then marrying goats. Or perhaps dogs, but it's usually goats.
I never thought much of Brad Pitt until recently-- I always thought he was an overrated pretty boy. Then I started noticing that he says some pretty intelligent things with shocking regularity for someone so famous.
