I love love love 'The Cronicles of Narnia'
Read them all too many times to count.
C.S. Lewis is perhaps one of my favorite authors, both for the Chronicles and for his six signature classics:

Mere Christianity
All extraordinary and powerful books. And chock full of the sharpest wit of any man except perhaps Winston Churchill.

My family owns BOTH the animated movie and the BBC miniseries. ^_^ I can remember both of them. I'm definitely excited for this. The Chronicles of Narnia was one of the things I grew up on; I can remember my dad reading them to me when I was little.
I'm not sure how I feel about Brian Cox. A less gentle Aslan is not EXACTLY a problem, as long as its done properly. You just have to understand that this IS a being of incredible power, as Jesus is. That power has to be present beneath the surface, even if it is rarely seen because he's so incredibly gentle and loving at the same time.
C.S. Lewis was an INCREDIBLE author.
