The animated version exists for sure, but I haven't seen it in forever.

I'm sort of scared that it will be much suckier than I remember it being if I watch it now.

I haven't seen the animated movie, but I have seen the moderately-enjoyable BBC miniseries that covers almost the entire Narnia Chronicles.

I love these books. I've read them hundreds of times since I was given them in 4th grade. Definetly the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is my favorite from them all.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was the only one of the Chronicles of Narnia that I remember myself being captivated by... but once I got hooked, boy was I hooked. 2005 should be a really exciting year in film with this, Memoirs of a Geisha (pictures are out now! They're great!), Rent and The Producers. Hopefully they'll be high quality across the board.

The last two movies I've seen him in were The Bourne Supremacy and X2. He played an asshole military intelligence/CIA guy both times.

He usually takes on supporting roles in films, including Braveheart. Some of you will remember him as the fierce screenwriting lecturer in ADAPTATION (2002).

I'm sure he'll do a good job. Aslan may be noble but he's also a rather large and frightening animal, which is how Cox has played humans in the past.

Me too. Maybe he's been written as a less gentle creature for the film? (which would be odd since Aslan is based on Jesus Christ)

At least we've got the SHREK team behind this one, and Tilda Swinton as the White Witch. She was great in The Deep End.

I finally read the first Lemony Snicket book yesterday, and...I'm not really sure what to think. Is it just an adaptation of the first book or are they sticking a few of them in there?

He has the right face for Count Olaf, that's for sure. But so much of the tone of the books is in the narration. We'll see.

Jude Law? I was wondering what his involvement was in that; he's certainly not right for any of the other characters. Eh, we'll see. I'm kind of going into this Zen state about all the movies of books I've read. If I get invested in it I'll just get upset; I know it. Good adaptations are incredibly rare.
