You do need to make sure you're position is clear.

O, the light dawns....after rereading all you psots and taking them together, I know what you thought it meant. EEEEWWWWWWWW

I am afraid I am guilty of leading Zola down the wrong visual path. I had only heard of "Tossing the Salad" at a nice romantic dinner with straight couple.

Sueleen, you leading me astray is like closing the barn door after the cows got out.

It's like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's like tossing salad with Katie Couric.

I went down on the Titanic...at least that's what the ad said his name was.

Has anyone heard the term "Breaking Bread" as a euphamism for being the first? As in "I'd sure like to break bread with you, young'un."

PEACE.

Sounds a little too much like "first communion" to me.

Is that what Father Pius meant when he asked me that in fourth grade?

Now I love the one that simply states "Oprah is a sinner! She must be fined today!" Apparently, the author believes the FCC is actually a giant confessional and forgot to issue Oprah's penance. Do they think Oprah was sinless until that point? It's so absurd, it's funny.

While nearly every person seemed to be extremely offended by the definition of a tossed salad, almost none of them had difficulty whatsoever describing the offending action in their letter. It's like, "This tastes disgusting! Here...taste it."

But the last letter is simply insane. I hope they trace that one down.

Can we send all the hypocritical conservative bigots to say, North Korea?

The same people in a dither over tossed salads and rainbows are the same ones who insisted the graphic testimony about CLinton, Blewinsky and the cigar was published. Apparently frank sexual talk is okay if you are using iut to further your own bifoted conservative agenda.

I, for one, think that anytime someone is called a conservative they should be called a BIGOTED conservative- sort of the way the bigoted conservatives always apply scorn to the term "liberal."

And I am sure I am not the only one who thinks our fearless leader could not bear a full rainbow- something tells me the length would only support 2 to 3 colors at most.

Those wacky BIGOTED conservatives.....

I saw this Oprah. It was graphic but she stated over and over again that the material was sensitive. I read that Howard Stern has been encouraging his listeners to write in to complain about the show even though most of them probably did not even see it.

Nevermind. I know now what it means. Who knew I liked salad so much?

Funny how so many of the letters are full of misspelled words and bad grammar. Looks like this message board.

Let's just go back to the "rainbow" phenomenon for a second. *That* caused a hell of a rowdy discussion during lunchtime at work the next day. (We consider such discussions to be part of an ongoing "lunch and learn" series, lol.) Most of us were unacquainted with the term until someone heard it on Oprah. The coworker who was most freaked out was the gay single father of two adopted daughters. He left work that day vowing to inspect the girls' purses for multiple tubes of brightly colored lipsticks before they leave the house from now on.

Oh my Gawd!!! Some of those letters are soo outragious and stupid!! Like one letter says "Please ban free speech so this never happens again." What is with that?
