I've been trying to download that US Weekly article all afternoon!

Until people.com reports the news, I count it as unofficial. They have clearly become Ms. Spears's one-stop publicity shop.

"Britney Spears gave birth to her second son early Tuesday morning, according to the National Enquirer and US Weekly. The 6-pound, 11-ounce baby reportedly made his debut just before 2 a.m. in a Los Angeles area hospital. MTV.com also reported the birth, citing a source close to the family who refused to say whether it was a boy or a girl.

A representative for Spears dismissed the reports, telling MTV.com they were "speculation."

The baby's arrival came two days short of the first birthday of Spears and husband Kevin Federline's first son, Sean Preston. Rumors were swirling around celebrity blog sites that Spears planned to have the birth induced on Thursday so that the siblings could share the same birthday."
