I work at an assisted living facility [old folks home], and this month is broadway month. My mother and I have been searching for some good classic Broadway hits, and haven't come up with much. We tried some newer things too and they hissed at anything with a good base line.

I would love / need some ideas of what to play, because, although I love musicals, frankly I can't handle sound of music the king and i and west side story all month. [Although I love WSS]

any suggestions please.

I love acting, its so much more real then life.

Are you talking about DVD's ??? It's hard to tell from your post.

How about the original 42nd Street?
Kiss Me Kate
Damn Yankees
South Pacific
Guys and Dolls

My grandma loves all the Judy Garland musicals.

The movies we are playing are already scheduled.

Why not do a bit of research on Musicals of the 20's 30's and 40's?

There are hundreds of Gershwin, Porter, Youmans, Kern, Rodgers and Hart and sundry other composers whose work have become American Standards. Many people don't realize that they all were actually from musicals.
