Two shows that I absolutely wanted to walk out on but couldn't because there wasn't an intermission:The River, The Anarchist. I love, love, love, Patti but that play....ughhhh.....Here is what I did walk out on:Mamma Mia, 1776, Betrayal, In the Heights, The Seagull, A Delicate Balance, Violet, and most recently, Fire and Air with Marsha Mason. I'm sure there's more but this is all I can think of right now.

I agree that Ann Reinking doesn't have the best vocals for Rosie, but I love to watch her move! She's flawless....

Ann Reinking, even with her raspy vocals, still blew Melanie Griffith out of the water. Melanie was HORRIBLE- dancing, singing, acting...you name it!

Anne Bancroft was a brilliant actress- I still can't believe that she's no longer with us. I'm sure I would've loved her as Mama Rose even if she wasn't a fabulous singer.

I agree 100%. I saw this play 3 times, and it was fabulous! So sad that this is the last weekend.

MrSweetNAwful- I think that Little Edie was referring to all the people that lived in or visited Grey Gardens through the years- Jerry, Gould, the people at the birthday party (can't remember their names.) On one hand, she dislikes them, but on the other, she wants everyone to know that they didn't "use" Big Edie. I don't remember any of those actual lines from the documentary, with the exception of the washing machine speech (Jerry really brought a washing machine to the house and Little Edi...

ACL2006- Yes, there was a run of "The Golden Girls Live" at Rose's Turn. It was performed by Peter Mac and John Schaffer (sp?). Peter Mac is the same actor/writer that recently had "Judy and Me" running on off-broadway.

This is one of my all time favorite shows!! My favorite cast was Ann Reinking, BeBe Neuwirth, Marcia Lewis, James Naughton, and Joel Grey. I wish I could've seen the original with Gwen and Chita, but I was a 4 when that production was on broadway. I went back several times through the years to catch the show with different casts- Melanie Griffith was a complete waste of my time and money. What was she thinking?

I think that Christopher Durang should bring "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You" to Broadway. Get Cherry Jones to play Sister Mary- she was excellent in "Doubt."

reginald- I also enjoyed her portrayal of Norma. Betty at her best.

I never had an opportunity to work with Betty Buckley, but I have been a huge fan for many years. She performs in different venues in NY every year, and I attend as many concerts as I can. I met her quite a few times, took a few photographs with her, and she is always very sweet to her fans. But, I trust people on the board that have worked with her when they describe her as "crazy" or having a terrible reputation. They used to offer $20.00 seats for Chicago when the revival first opened. I would meet a bunch of friends and we stayed on line every morning until they opened the box office at 10:00. I saw the show six times in one week. It was well worth the wait on line- Ann Reinking, Bebe Neuwirth, Joey Grey- what a cast!! I saw it many times after that, but that first week was the best!
