What a bizarre, ridiculous, and relentlessly watchable movie. I'll never understand what the leading cast (all of whom I usually love) were thinking.
Still, the Chauffeur has haunted my dreams for years.
I was all into the Disco '70s Mickey Mouse Club and mousketeer Todd Turquand was in Burnt Offerings.
I thought that was very cool.
I can't believe you guys mentioned The Manitou. I saw that when it first aired on cable back in 1980 or so. God, that was horrible! That is shortlisted on my bad horror flicks list.

Oliver Reed looked good pudgy!
blueroses - The "Embarrassed to Admit You'd Totally Do" is a different thread.
I remember Bette Davis telling a story about Oliver Reed getting drunk during filming, playing the bagpipes and falling down a hill.
Re: THE MANITOU, MM...you gotta admit, any movie that has among other things a midget Indian bursting out of the back of Susan Strasberg must be seen to be believed. Oh, and that climax in...outer space!
doodle - You're absolutely right. As usual.
Yes, The Manitou is another good one.
Annnd this would be the MANITOU trailer. Enjoy.
Oh God, there was so much of that film I had obviously blocked from my memory.
If you want a good Exorcist rip-off, it doesnt get better than "Abby" starring the king of cartoons.

ABBY and MANITOU had the same director, natch.
I also love Die, Die, My Darling. It was on a few months ago and I hadn't seen it in a long time, I was planning on doing some errands and was only going to watch a few minutes, well of course, the movie won out!
"Die, Die, My Darling" is a hoot. Donald Sutherland has a small part in that. I love when Bankhead looks at St. John's red car and says, "Corruptor."
