Bush's quirky math

Bush's proposed defense budget = $439.3 billion

Universal primary and secondary education = $69 billion

And which one has Bush chosen to underfund?

For example, Bush gave $400 million over 4 years to train teachers (far short of the world's need of $7 billion per year). When will someone ask the president to think about his legacy?

Shameful.

I think his main concern now is his approval rating.

I frankly do not understand how approval ratings can matter anymore. He's in the office 'til 2008, opinion polls aren't going to change that.

I agree. Yet somehow, he's still 12 years old and concerned with who invites him to parties.

Although, I think that if word got out about this inequity, people might wake up.

You know all he does all day is sit on his elmo chair with his Battleship board game coming up with strategies for the war.

How do we expect a president to care about education when he only got through school because of his dear old daddy?!

This man has never had to do a damn thing on his own in his life! I bet you when his two girls were concieved Laura was on top!

Well. Thank you for feeding our national Laura Bush fetish.

You people really think Bush makes any moves on his own? It's all part of Dick's master plan... you'll see... August 24th, 2007... *cackles*

Bush sucks. Clinton sucked too. So did Bush senior........and Reagan, and Carter. One president is not better than another. They are all corrupt.

Yes, I agree the government is corrupt but I must refermence a saying I love. "Remember the time when all America had to worry about was a b**w J*b?"

Well corrupt presidents don't come to office by themelves. So many people complain about how terrible it is but never vote.
Everyone needs to chare their opinion.

That's a beautiful sentiment, but to say that was all the country had to worry about would be a complete farse. Clinton just did a much better job of hiding the treachery. Bush is sloppier with the cover ups. That is the only fundemental difference between the two. Partisan politics is the most successful distraction ever concocted.(Sp?)

re: Bush's quirky math

At the risk sounding to negative, I must also say that voting for president is also kind of a crock. You get to choose between two candidates. Guess what........they're both from the same club. You can't be the parties chosen candidate unless your in the club. It doesn't matter who wins, republican or democrat. The same people hold the power. Voting for president gives us a sense of control that is not there. This is nothing new. This is how government has always worked. Democracy goes no where as deep as we think it does.
