18. White privilege means being able to dismiss entire pieces about white privilege flat out, without any personal examination.
Thank you, Phyllis. I actually think there's a lot to think about in that list.
And for the poster who thinks only black people who dress "gangsta" get treated differently, I've posted before about a friend of mine--same age, height, accent (i.e., he doesn't "sound" black), education (including advanced degrees). The primary difference is that he dresses better.
The differences between his treatment by police (not just while driving, but while walking in front of his own home) and mine are truly shocking.
