In an act of sheer stupidity, NY1 has been airing the N.O.M. Hate Commercial. Call the station at 212-691-6397... They are EXPECTING your call (they've been flooded all day with outraged viewers).
The sweet girl who answered the phone was sympathetic and obviously frustrated. They also advise the BEST thing to do is to Contact the Station Manager here:

TELL THEM THAT N.O.M. IS A RECOGNIZED HATE-GROUP & NY1 HAS SHAMED THEMSELVES BY TAKING THEIR $$$!

Just sent the following email:
"As a long-time NY1 fan (since the minute you first started broadcasting!) I am offended by the advertising you have allowed to air from the No On Marriage hate group. Would you have allowed the Nazi Party to buy ad time? The KKK??
I will be boycotting ALL advertisers on your station for as long as you continue to allow the promotion of hate."

Posted: 5/15/11 at 12:07pmI just sent a message too, saying that NY1 was the only reason I haven't switched to FiOS (which is actually true) and that I now regret that decision and hope they will reconsider their decision.

NY1 is still airing the NOM hate commercial. Only now, when they have to answer to their complaints, they are saying it's a "TimeWarner advertising issue" and "not their problem."
IT IS THEIR PROBLEM!
IF YOU ARE PISSED OFF, THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST DO
CALL TO ACTION: TIMEWARNER & NY1 AIRING NOM AD
1. Call NY1 Assignment Desk and demand to be connected to a manager (or their voicemail) in Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations or Human Resources. Do not take no for an answer.
Leave a message demanding they remove the advertisement and/or open dialogue with TimeWarner for how to remove the advertisement. Also ask for a public announcement from NY1 addressing that they are at least hearing the demands of their viewers

2. Call TimeWarner and demand they remove the advertisement immediately. Address the fact NOM is a hate group and there is no room for "equal air time" when an organization professes hate. Also demand they provide a public announcement to their users addressing that they are at least hearing the demands of their viewers
