CBS and James Corden timeslot

This guy started a few months ago. Up until 2 weeks ago, he had a strong lead-in, Letterman. Dave's ratings were fairly strong the last month or so with a roster of A list hand picked guests by Letterman himself. Now what does James Corden have as a lead-in? Reruns of The Mentalist. CBS should have him in the 11:35 slot until Steven Colbert takes over mid September. It would give people a chance to preview him and it could be a three way race with all three networks having their own Jimmys. Anyone else agree?

They can't risk it. If Corden did decently, (which I doubt he would opposite Fallon, but still), and Colbert came on and didn't do as well, it would be Very Bad News. I will not watch Corden after the April 1st stunt with Katie Couric.

What was the stunt? I haven't been following his show--saw a couple which seemed like kinda OK, less fun takes on Graham Norton's format mixed with less successful wannabe viral videos--but I know you were optimistic before it started.

It's just another thing that's my problem and nobody else's. I thought it was so mean spirited and cruel and there were people in the audience who witnesses not in on the joke who seemed frozen in fear. The show had been on less than a month.

If I were Corden I'd have fired everybody responsible.

Namo. You sound like an immature brat with that reasoning. How ridiculous and unbelievable. Don't speak on the panels of any conferences I attend, please!

Don't be ridiculous. You'd never be invited.

The only thing I've liked, that I've seen, of his show is his car ride with Jennifer Hudson.

That was not a prank, and it wasn't funny.

I saw the clip with Katie Couric and I didn't find it offensive. I thought it was a well thought out April Fools prank. I still think it is a disservice on CBS's part to introduce a brand new late night host that no one knows with no lead in for 4 months.

Jesus. 4 months? I didn't realize the gap between Letterman's final show and Colbert's first was going to be so long. That is rough. Corden might never recover. Not that I give a ****. Conan's the only decent late night show left right now.

Agreed about Conan. Cannot say the same of his EPs and writers, unfortunately. Some of them are truly the worst. Conan deserves better.
