Did anyone see this movie? It was absolutely, positively horrible. And it should have, by all means, been a great film with a stunning lead performance from Jared Leto. Instead it's plodding, boring, uninvolving, and ridiculously pretentious. And Leto is terrible. He tries to give a transforming performance on the same level as Charlize Theron in MONSTER or Robert DeNiro in TAXI DRIVER but boy does he fall short of those two undeniably brilliant performances. He is almost borderline campy...his accent is ridiculous, his mannerisms are laughably unreal, and he just seems to be ACTING the whole time, not really transforming. Sure he looks unrecognizable but besides that he is pretentiously irritating. I can't believe I actually sat through the entire film; it's truly awful. The only thing that's good about it are the two supporting performances from Lindsay Lohan and Judah Friedlander, both understated and truly invested in their roles but kinda forgettable, especially because everything else in the film is garbage.
