Definitely! not to mention that giving them more publicity is just making them even more famous and guarenteeing that more people know about them. It just allows for more younger people to see them and look at them as role models. If we just ignore them, will they go away?
Their job is to report the news not decide what they want us to know. What if Lindsay is killed in prison and they report that without even telling us that she was IN prison. I would be pissed.
I say, good for him!!
This was done about a month ago with Paris
Well good for him!
Good for him... and the MSNBC reporter. It's time we report on real news instead of the latest in celebrity hijinks. That is why we have ET or Access Hollywood.
Ivan the Wonderful, you're missing the point. And GET your priorities straight - you should be PISSED about REAL events happening RIGHT NOW! Not a "what if" story on some rich girl.
I loved the MSNBC video. GOOD FOR HER!

Bravo Jack (CNN) and Mika (MSNBC).
whatever happened to that anchor on msnbc? is she still working, did she get fired? transferred to Antartica?
Some people enjoy the smutt news and like to stay ignorant about other things going on( war, economy.....)I dont think it is wrong to throw a lighter story in the mix , when all the other subjects are so heavy..
^ I would much prefer to hear the heavier stuff (the IMPORTANT stuff) than "Lindsay Lohan arrested again". Because I don't really care, honestly if she's arrested again.

All the same, it's hard to justify it as the lead story.
Dear God HELP ME, I am going to agree with Ivan. It is not the job of a news reader to decide what news gets read on television. Like it or not, this story IS newsworthy. She is a public figure with a history of trouble. Where does it end if we allow the readers to edit what stories they pass along to the public? What if it was a story about Gay rights and the newsreader was a Fundamentalist Christian and didn't think it should be reported on? Or some dumb ass GWB story that the conservative Republican did not want people to know about?
Just READ THE FREAKING NEWS and let US decide what is important. Thank you. (and end of agreeing with Ivan the Terrible)

A day that will live in infamy!
But I still don't think it's justifiable as the LEAD story.
Is it really agreeing if the person with whom you are agreeing isn't real?

If you want to decide what gets covered go to journalism school and become an editor or producer.
If you want to read the news, get your nose done.
Good point, somms. By the way, has anyone heard from Rath?
I thought Lindsay getting arrested again was the important stuff. Guess I was wrong.
I am not making a judgment on the importance of the story, but like I said, it IS newsworthy and should be reported.
Now does Larry King need to have three nights devoted to it? Probably not, but that is for the producers to decide.

Due to the disappearance of Rath, the positions traditionally argued by Rath will occasionally be covered by Namo until Rath's return.
Give Lindsay a break! She's a kid and she obviously didn't have good parents.
Wow Sue, I am honored.
And Somms, what do you mean by not REAL?
