I am terribly, horribly jealous of you right now. Seriously, every time I read another "Woo! I'm at SDDC!" report I seethe in nerdy frustration. And then I go back to reading Gotham Central. :P
Have a good time! Tell us all about the panels and signings and costumes and such.

i've never been to comic-con. i go to connecticon every year tho =]
i was cosplaying as tobi this year. i felt kind of supperior to all the other tobis, since my mask was made by molding clay over a false face mask and then painting it... i saw alot of people with paper masks.

so today I spent half the day in Hall H (which is the largest room that seats 6500) to watch movie previews... saw sneak of Tron Legacy and it looked pretty damn amazing... the big surprise... after the panel was over Patton Oswalt, the moderator, mentioned that the Haunted Mansion is going to be remade.. the audience was REALLY shocked because 1) the first movie was bad and 2) the director chosen to do the new film came out and it was Guillermo del Toro! this was his new project that he opted to do instead of the Hobbit... I'm actually excited about this because he knows how to tell a story and visually the guy can create just amazing images! he talked about using the original ghost in the ride and making him the focal point of the movie and just telling a really good ghost story that he said was not appropriate for kids... we shall see! and then they showed a small clip of Johnny Depp as Cpt. Jack talking about the new movie... it was exciting
also during the day saw clips of the new Will Ferrel and Tina Fey cartoon, Angelina Jolie stopped by to promote Salt... listened to the Joss Whedon and JJ Abrams panel as they discussed making films and tv series... it was all pretty exciting!
day 2 tomorrow!!!

eatlasagna, just reading about your first day has me in total envy. Now let's cut to the chase: Costume or no costume (but maybe a graphic t-shirt)?
Today they premiered the TV adaptation of The Walking Dead which is one of my most anticipated shows:
I really want to go to the NY Comic Con (I might just with my friend doing her 'thesis research' that has to do with BSG).

no costume for me! haha.. but yesterday I wore my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt... today I wore my Family Guy/Star Wars t-shirt... tomorrow it's my Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers... not sure what for Sunday.. we'll see...
speaking of the walking dead... i went to that panel today!!! i went because i love zombies and heard about this tv show being adapted from a graphic novel... the audience went NUTS during the teaser footage... i'll tell you... for a tv show it looks absolutely amazing and i cannot wait for the debut in October... and I love me some Sarah Wayne Callies (from Prison Break!)... they also had zombies walking down the aisles.. pretty cool... one of them "attacked" me! haha
the other panel I went to today was Hawaii 5-0 remake.. i only went because it was right before the Walking Dead... it was cool though to hear Daniel Dae Kim talk about the finale of LOST and to hear Grace Park talk about Battlestar Galactica... funny story... Grace started talking about BSG and forgot that Daniel just started watching the DVDs and ruined key points of the plot!! haha... it was hilarious... in return Daniel spoiled the ending of LOST to Grace! good stuff... i also got a free t-shirt from this panel! woo hoo...
speaking of free stuff... i got lots of free goodies today... bags, comics, pens, mugs... just a bunch of stuff! can't wait for tomorrow... HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
other random stuff... saw Elizabeth Mitchell as she was being interviewed at the Warner Bros. booth.. and made my friend jealous because I took a picture of Joe Manganiello (True Blood) whom she is in love with! haha
I have gone every year for the past 7 and for some reason I REALLY enjoyed this year's panel programs. On Thursday I saw Danny Elfman. That was the highlight for me. Someone even asked if he had any plans of writing for the theater and he mentioned he has already written some music for a show called Houdini.
I saw the cast of Glee, Big Bang Theory, Smallville, Supernatural and .... the cast of the AVENGERS!
And as an added bonus for me Malcolm Mcdowel from A Clockwork Orange showed up at the same T-shirt booth I was.
I love Comic-Con.

and i must also add... saturday night was awesome... i had dinner across the street in the Gaslamp Disctrict (which is a huge nightspot in downtown san diego) and they had a hundred or so people dressed as zombies walking up and down the district... it was pretty hilarious!
