The recent wildfires in California have caused significant devastation, and many organizations are providing relief to those affected. If you’re looking to help, here are some reputable options for donations:
• World Central Kitchen (my go-to): Provides meals to first responders and families impacted by the fires. Donate here.
• American Red Cross: Offers shelter, meals, and support for emergency responders. Donate here.
• California Fire Foundation: Assists affected communities and supports local fire agencies. Donate here.
• Direct Relief: Supplies N-95 masks, medicine, and other resources to first responders and healthcare agencies. Donate here.
Your contributions can make a real difference for those affected by these devastating fires. World Central Kitchen is always my go-to, but all of these organizations are doing incredible work to support communities in need.
Three Apps for Staying Updated on the LA Fires.
I wanted to share three apps that are great resources for staying informed about the LA, if you are in CA and need real up to date information.
1. Zoom Earth This app pulls data from multiple satellites to provide updates on global weather patterns. It’s useful for tracking fire containment, acreage burned, and new fires in the area.
2. Watch Duty This app is a highly recommended resource for real-time updates on wildfires. It incorporates information from multiple sources, including evacuation zones and active fire incidents, making it a reliable tool for staying informed.
3. IQAir IQAir provides air quality data from contributors with monitors in the area. It’s highly specific to your location, which is invaluable during fire season.
