Calling all BWWers in LA for help
#0Calling all BWWers in LA for help
Posted: 6/22/05 at 11:14pmI'll be in the LA area (West Covina) on July 16-17, and then the last week of July visiting family and stuff. However I don't know what else to do in the area besides hangout with my cousins. So my question is, what are some interesting things to do. Keep in mind, I've done most of the touristy stuff already.

Posted: 6/24/05 at 12:51pmIf you're going to Disneyland, beware of long lines. It's a madhouse there. But, if you go to California Adventure...less crowded and a lot of fun.

Posted: 6/24/05 at 1:40pmI REALLY want to go to Disneyland - but the heat and the lines. Not happening now. But if you go, you will still have tons of fun!

L.A. has some great hookah bars...if you drive down Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks you'll see a bunch of hookah bars
Sunset Strip in West Hollywood has some great bars...
Shopping? Old Town Pasadena has some good shopping, but it's not anything new. It's shops you'll find almost anywhere.

If you have any interest in nature/plants/gardens, the history of literature or 18th & 19th century American/European art, I HIGHLY recommend The Huntington Gardens in Pasadena (they have a web-site.)
And as for museums in general, The Getty and LOCMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) are pretty wonderful.
Olvera Street in downtown LA also gives a wonderful impression of the hispanic culture here.
