I was sick today, so I just watched both of these movies for the first time, first Fame and then Camp. I felt like I was watching the same movie twice. Both of these movies have the exact same three protagonists, only in Camp they're hotter. Particularly notable were the identical wistful looks of Montgomery and Michael. Has anyone else ever noticed this?

"Fame" is far superior to "Camp" on so many levels.

I never noticed that. But I enjoyed Fame (which happens to be my favorite movie) a lot more than Camp. I really didn't see that many similarities between the two, except that they're both about teenagers in the performing arts, and the little stories of what happens there.

I love CAMP! Fame sorta annoys me the movie, i loved it on stage though!

I agree. Fame is a MUCH better movie. Though Camp has a couple of nice musical moments.

There's also a movie called "CENTRE STAGE"

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I prefered Fame as well. But the plots were still identical. Golden boy woos fag hag (hereafter referred to as fruit fly), wins here, self-ashamed gay boy looks on wistfully, crushing gently on golden boy. Golden boy and gay boy make friends in moment of pure homoerotica. Everyone realizes what a jerk golden boy is. Then everyone leaves. Meanwhile, we keep an eye on the artistic careers of everyone else.
