Here's my advice. As an A student myself, I have to remind you how incredibly inflated highschool marks are. If the teacher is making the course hard, then you should be thanking them for preparing you for the harsh world of University.

With that said, I don't think it's the teacher's fault. I don't think it is anyones fault. The course is hard, and the teacher isn't generous with marks. If you want to improve your mark, go to class early one morning and ask the teacher what he or she would recommend. That way the teacher knows what kind of mark you would like to get, and what you are willing to do to achieve that mark.

If all else fails, bribe the teacher.

Blaming the teacher is a crutch.

Remember a time when if a student wasn't doing well in a class, it was the student's fault????

I mean...it wasn't THAT long ago. But suddenly, it's the teacher's problem if a student isn't doing well. Worse still are the parents. If I wasn't doing particularly well in a class (not something that happened much, he says as modestly as possible), my parents would have never DREAMED to blame the teacher.

I know, Robbie!

You wouldn't believe how many notes from parents that I have received---all are insane. "Why are you failing my child?", etc.

I am not failing your child. Your child is failing his or herself.

All of those notes go right in the garbage.

Dear Sally Brown,

Kindly check the spelling of the word "definitely".

That said, I find it preposterous that you get "A's" in English.

Yours for a better-spelled world,

Dollypop

Well said.

And I think most people are too hard on teachers, but there are certainly some bad teachers out there.

I think Dollypop may be one of them...

Dear Sally Brown,

I find it difficult to believe that you've received "A's" in English. In your posting you use "cuz" instead of "because" and follow it by a double negative. Then you neglect to use an apostophe in a contraction. Darling child, is Liam your English teacher?

Hoping for a grammatically correct world,

Dollypop

I love it! I am also a freak about grammar, however i do not use it that well on this board.

Lordy, I was exhuasted last night and I don't really care about computer grammar!

That being said, I know it's not right to blame teachers, but what would you do if you had a teacher who shoves, looks at everyone as though they were idiots, and doesn't really like children at all? I mean she really doesn't, so why is she teaching kids?

And for the second time, yes, I am getting an A in English. Thank you.

I would not have any faith in a teacher that would give an A to someone who defiles the English language by using the word "cuz" as well as other abominations.

Dear Sally Brown,

Your last posting seemed a little terse. Is something bothering you? Has Liam dumped you?
