deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Off-and-running immediately getting the dog to the groomer, mother-in-law to the doctor and sprucing the house for a visit this evening by our financial advisor. We're going to go over the specifics of the California gay marriage situation, and what impact it could have on us.
Who knows - she might end up being my actual mother-in-law!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and is doing well.

I feel like I have a head full of cotton today - and I didn't do any celebrating last night. Maybe that's why I had no idea you had a dog, DG. I did read "getting the dog to the groomer" didn't I? Do we have a name? A picture?

Mamie - we have a female Sheltie (one of these, but this isn't her.) We used to have a little boy, too, but lost him to a brain tumor last year. Our girl, Christy (short for Christina of the Cotswolds) will be 12 this November.
Not really sure how I feel about the wedding thing. I actually like the idea of the institution itself, but the whole public pageantry of it makes me balk a bit. I think I played the organ for too many weddings when I was younger! I'm more apt to lean toward a big celebratory party - AFTER a very private event.

Favorite niece Katie (Sam's mom) and Pete (Sam's dad) were originally scheduled to have a huge formal wedding late last year. Then they found out that Sam was coming and it completely changed their view of things. They decided to cancel the big wedding and now they are going to go down to the beach (probably the outer banks in NC) - just the 3 of them - and have a quiet, unannounced wedding. They've let everyone know that they are planning a HUGE party in August to celebrate their marriage. NOT their wedding - just their marriage.
