They say everyone was rescued from this ship. If I had been aboard, I would not have been among the rescued, as I would have been LONG dead of a heart attack by this point!
Happy Birthday TinMan! May the day (and year) be beautiful for you.

How was your weekend, moony?

Kind of boring, Tink. I actually cleaned out two closets and THAT was the most exciting part of the weekend. No new puppies, parties with friends, etc. I have to live my life through the rest of you. Sigh.
Morning kiddles!!
Was hoping the remote installer guy would call and say he'd be here at the beginning of the time window I was given, but no. Definitely wishful thinking on my part. Oh, well. I just hope rain holds off until later.
The first part of my weekend was fun!! The second part, eh. As much as I hated to, I dragged up the tree from the basement and set it up. Put the lights on it last night, and the garland. I just can't seem to get away from putting that on the tree all these years. I tried one year, got ornaments halfway on the tree, took them all off and put the garland on. I just love how the lights reflect off it. Tacky, schmacky.

You know, if you just leave the tree up all year round, you woudln't have to go through this every Novemner. Just sayin'.....not that I actually KNOW anyone who did that this year. Nope. Don't know anyone at all.
one year I made it to the beginning of March with the tree still up before Chris gave me the ultimatum.
My normal tradition was take the tree and all down from attic on Weds night, and then at midnight on thurs/fri start decorating. Finish decorating tree in AM and then do all my outside decorations later in the day.
Roomie and I have decided to do a tree this year, which is great, but means I need to go digging in those boxes for the first time. yay for being heavily medicated! But i am oddly looking forward to the holiday season again, which is good!
That's great, Tink. I'm sure you'll have fun decorating the tree together!
Moony, if I had the room to do that, I probably would! As it is, I have to bring my wooden rocker up to the bedroom, to make room for the tree.
I've had it up until mid-March, the latest. That was when I had to store all the stuff at my Aunt's. It was always so damn cold, I never wanted to go pick up the boxes at her house, come back, undecorate and then lug it all back to her attic.
My folks left it up until sometime in March one year when my cousin was coming home from the service. Everyone came over and we had Christmas all over again for him. I was about 10ish, I think.

The first year is behind you, so the rest will be easier. (HUGS)
Thanks, ladies! :) You are all big parts of how i got through the first year! **hugs**
Everyone is complaining about how many houses have their lights up already. I say those people are smart and took advantage of the nice weather instead of waiting and possibly freezing while doing it.

Morning.
I have to admit I'm still smiling over Addy's outburst in the Palin thread. I know it's not her comfort zone, but there is something delisciously satisfying when a real lady lets loose with the fury like machine-gun fire.
I understand her remorse, but I keep reading it and grinning.
HAHAHAHA!
I just read that! Remind me not to piss off Addy!

Thanks for the heads-up, Q. I didn't see that thread.
I'll have to go check it out!
Q - how was Disney yesterday?

Disney was lovely as always. We had a nice dinner, and then just walked all around the park looking at the decorations - so beautiful. They're doing a special little thing with the castle lighting this year that is mesmerizing!
Tink, I don't care if they put it up, but wait until December 1 to turn the lights on, or at least Thanksgiving night. But I joined them in having lights on outside for the first time this season. I share a back porch and steps and they put lights all around the porch windows and the bannister of the steps, so...I really didn't have a choice.
I was just on a vacuuming frenzy. I need to rip apart boxes and trash some other stuff. Who am I, and where did Girly go?
Morning Shamey and Q!
