I have a yummy (no, really it is) gluten-free spice cake mix at home. I may layer sliced apples in the bottom of the cake pan and spread the batter on top. It won't be a crumble, but it will be good. I also have some pumpkin spice ice cream in the freezer. Hmmmm.....

Love Lara Spencer, too. I was delighted with my seat placement. (I'm wondering if it may have been purposeful, given that the head of sales, who makes all the arrangements, is a friend of mine and we've been talking about renovations and furniture for months).
I agree about the dark.
Had a lovely evening with the ladies of my team last night. We were treated to facials and massages at the spa Silk on W. 13th Street and then went out for wine and cheese after. (Fortunately, they picked a dark bar so nobody would see us looking all greasy post-treatment). One of my first evenings out 'celebrating' in a long time.
Tonight is the opera.
Tomorrow is an all-day wine-adventure on Long Island.
I do enjoy October.
(Not all fun and games, though. Today is all meetings. All day long. Next week I'm back in Chicago).
I'm still craving apple crumble. I think I've just added it to my To Do list for the weekend.
Anybody have any fun weekend plans?
I'd also like to catch up on going to the movies. It's been forever.
Cheers to all my smokin' and jokin' friends!

I fear the illness got the best of Boobs. No morning pic today.
I had debated buying a ticket to Rick Springfield tonight. Even though no one had money to go with me, I thought about going by myself. Some good seats opened up last week. I'm dragging so hard today, I'm kinda glad I didn't. I'll be kicking myself, though, when pics start showing up in my Newsfeed tonight.

uh oh. Hope Boobs is ok! Sending healing hugs.
Rick Springfield. That would have been fun, but if you're dragging today then you'll be glad that you didn't make the plans.
brd, I'm going to see 'The Nose' starring Paulo Szot at the Met.
Saw him two years ago, and it was a great concert! He even "walked" through the audience during Human Touch. And by walked, it was on the arms of the chairs, sort of over the audience, with help from the audience, accompanied by much laughter from him and cheers from the audience. Had seen him back in his GH days at the Garden State Arts Center.
I suck at making any kind of crumbles. You wouldn't think you could screw something like that up, right?

G'morning. Still shaking that thing I had last week, so I feel for ya, Boobs.
I make an "Apple Confit" with only three ingredients: Granny Smith Apples ( a lot of them ), Grated Orange Peel, and Sugar. The apples get peeled, cored and sliced paper thin and layered in a baking dish. Every five layers some orange rind and sugar gets sprinkled on it, and it continues to get layered this way until it's about 4" above the rim of the dish. It sits, covered in aluminum foil, in the fridge for a day or two, and then goes into the oven ( at a low 100 degree temp ) for 5 hours. It all condensed into an intensely delicious apple experience. We serve it with Green Apple Sorbet. I haven't made one in years. I should.

Happy Friday, kids. I'm off today and hedging my bets as to if and when the driveway sealing crew shows up. They never returned my call yesterday, but this appointment has been scheduled forever.
I'm judging a pageant this weekend in the Pocono's.
I'm allegric to apples. See SoMMSie swell!
Morning peeps! Boobs is feeling a little better today. The fever broke, but still a little light headed.
Deet, that sounds good. I'm sure you're making it for the next Framily gathering, right?
