Airport is kind of a mess.
From the fairy tale back to reality... But this reality makes the fairy tale possible so I can't complain. (Much).
Stay safe in the slippery winter weather today. I'm having another cup of coffee and waiting for them to officially cancel the flight so I can go to the office and salvage some of this day
Cheers!

The flights for a few hours after mine are all officially cancelled. Mine is still listed as a delay. Which is frustrating because I can't re-book and I can't just cut my losses and go to the office to try to salvage part of today.
So I'm drinking lots of coffee in the Admiral's Club. And they just set out trays of freshly baked chocolate cookies. So, there's that silver lining. .
I emailed my team to tell them to be safe. I don't want anyone coming in who has a long and difficult commute.
It's winter! It's a soup, sandwich and hot chocolate in pajamas while watching movies kind of day. Sigh....

Not that I mind the extra day off, but it really isn't all that bad outside. We have two, maybe three inches of dry, powdery snow - easily dealt with. They say we'll have some peeks of sunshine by late afternoon.
Safe travels, Addy - whether to Chicago or back to midtown.
Really happy to read the article in today's NY Times that NBC plans to do more musicals!
My money is on them doing "Mary Poppins" next... (Will be fun to see what they select)
Moony, is your area saying that the weather will get worse throughout the day? That's why there were some cancellations here.

I'm really happy that SOM was successful enough for NBC to consider continuing to do this, and Addy, I think Mary Poppins would be a delightful choice!
OOOHHH! Competitive noise. The apartment below us began their renovation yesterday. I could tell there was something going on down there this morning, but the second my guys began to work, they started making more noise downstairs. When my guys stop, they stop. When my guys start up again, they start up again. It's going to be one of those days of one-upmanship, isn't it?
Oh, and BTW: did you all know that in the 1949, long before Disney even started on the film version of MARY POPPINS, there was a live TV version based on the book, with Mary Wickes as Mary?
Mary Wickes as Mary Poppins
I'm so happy I stayed home. We have about three inches and it's still snowing hard. I'll shovel in a bit. Got most of the Christmas cards done and rebooted the lap top system to get rid of some pesky pop-ups. Drinking hot chocolate now and watching some HGTV. Great day so far.

Well, that was fun.
Flight was officially cancelled, and there were no flights to re-book until tomorrow. Just about the time I was scheduled to fly home.
So, I'm trying to be productive back in the office to make up for a day spent in the Admiral's Club at LaGuardia.
So much fun.
Well, at least you weren't stuck out amongst the unwashed masses.
Boobs, I agree. And I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Well, it looks like the BWW exterminator did a good job last night.

Last night that phony poster who tries to sell fake passports, etc, was posting in here. We needed a good fumigation.
That explains it. BWW is my home page on my laptop at home, and when I pulled up the browser, the last post on here was mine, but it said I posted at 6:11 PM. Well, since I was in my car, driving home on 287 at that time, I knew that was wrong. When I clicked on the thread to see what I had posted, mine was the last post at 3:24 in the afternoon. So I guess by that time, the exterminator had come in, but it made my posting time funky when looking at the full list of thread topics.
